We all may have heard the murmurings of the Pies 6 year, $6,000,000 deal for Dusty Martin however there is some buzz that the Pies are deep into Jacob Hopper thus continuing our yearly purge of excess GWS talent.
Despite being a product of the Riverina, he spent most of his teenage years at St Pat's in Ballarat and is keen to head back to Victoria. Hopefully this occurs as he is a gun! _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Would much rather we get a kid like this on 500k a year then Dusty on a million.
He's a strong bodied midfielder not unlike Martin.
Taken at pick 7 in the draft, yep, he will do nicley.
We also have a nice relationship with GWS now, so if he wants to leave I'm sure we could get a deal done. |

Hope this Jacob Hopper doesn't end up being a bunny....... _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |

Great young player. Would happily take him rather than Martin (who can stay where he is for all I care). |

I hear all the grumblings re Martin and somewhat concur but we do have some advantages in this situation in having a 'mentor' in Swan (retired or not), who'll be able to lay wisdom re the Pies re Eddie etc - regardless of his personal personality.
With the right coaching, most of our present squad and Dusty - I really do believe we'd have the tools to have a 'tilt' side. He's a real 'make the difference' type player which are few and far between (the Tigers are just crap.... and he stands head and shoulders above the rest there).
Re Hopper, know nothing about him but I'll check him out. |

Our forward line is in desperate need of goal kicking power and X Factor. Daicos and Kirby are a few years off that.
Motlop is a FA I would be chasing. |

100% Agree. Rather go after Hooper then Martin.
Not a Dickhead and fit bit better into our Age Profile.
Even without Gubby in Charge _________________ I am Da Man |

I like the kid and would certainly prefer over Martin. Just not sure we need more mids. It might be the luxury we can take if McLarty, McCarthy and Schade come on reducing the need for KPP types. |
