So of the 40 players I've listed, you dispute that 5 meet your small forward requirements. Despite all 3 of Phillips, Smith, and Clarke all playing as small forwards at Collingwood. And both DeGoey and Crocker were 186-187 when recruited which hardly makes them KPPs.

Just a simple, "oh really, I'm sorry I didn't realise how wrong my post could possibly be" would suffice.

The examples used are not accurate and it shows a lack of knowledge to even try to justify them as small forward types. John McCarthy played as an onballer for the Stringrays and never spent time forward. Ditto Josh Thomas who did the same for Gold Coast.

Please put me on your ignore list. Your football IQ is laughable.

Seriously? So U18's position dictates where they've played their senior footy.

Time to crawl back under your bridge.

Josh Thomas has never played as a small forward in his TAC Cup days and never at an AFL or VFL level.

I'll give you an example <snip>.

Daniel Rioli played for his school side, his state and in other rep matches as a small crumbling forward. He then played VFL for Richmond in the same position and their senior side.

Using examples as flawed as Marty Clarke as a small forward type highlight <snip>. He was introduced as a HBF and never played as game as a small forward.

Please, put me on ignore.

And of course Leon was recruited as a small forward after an AA championship series playing wing.

Some more players you mentioned from 2012 to 2015 who were specifically recruited and what recognized position that they played at their former clubs..

Broomhead …..midfielder
JDG ….midfielder/defender
Kennedy…midfielder/forward
Freeman …midfielder
Martin .....a hail mary pick
Dwyer...a hail mary pick plus he was a midfielder
Abbott ... a hail mary pick from the rookie list see above
Tom Phillips...drafted as a midfielder/forward and drafted at pick 58.
Varcoe... forward but has a goal kicking average of less than 1 goal per game and was often used in other positions.
Crocker... midfielder/forward and drafted pick 65
Smith...a hail mary pick from the rookie list plus he was recognized as a midfielder.

To sum up... not one player there was drafted as specific front and square specialist forward.

Given our depleted midfield stocks, missing De Goey, Greenwood, Wells and now Varcoe, there's not a snowballs chance in hell that we'd drop Blair. We simply haven't got a replacement for him atm.

Please show me a link to his draft profile because I know you are making that up.

Of course I am, and the epic battle between Davis and Shaw on a wing during the championships is just a myth as well.

Aish and Broomhead viable alternatives.

They are, but as desirable as bringing both in this week is, I suspect Aish will be the only change...

Becomes a bit about balance though doesn't it. You'd assume 1 of Aish or Broomhead would replace Varcoe and I don't think either are as good defensively so a team getting hammered for poor team defence R1 already goes into R2 defensively weaker. That only compounds if the other replaces Blair. I didn't think Blair was as bad as a few suggest but wouldn't be overly fussed if he was overlooked for Broomhead or Aish. Just highlighting that it's a risky call.

Kayle Kirby was recruited as a specialist forward who is great at getting front and square.
He can kick an amazing goal as good as anyone. He has the X factor.
Kicked 9 goals at 2 games with Richmond VFL.
He is the only true small forward recruited by Hine since Andrew Krak.
Below is a list of his goals per game in the last few years.

2016 - Bendigo Pioneers - 32 at 2.46 per game
2015 - Tyntynder seniors - 47 goals at 3.13 per game
2014 - Tyntynder U16 - 60 goals at 4.29 per game
2013 - Tyntynder U15 - 78 goals at 5.57 per game
2012 - Tyntynder U15 - 54 goals at 3.00 per game

And just to remind everyone Blair has an average of about 0.7goals per game

Jackcass gave about 40 examples of recruitment by Hine for the small forward role.
I say most were not recruited as small forwards, and if they were, it is a real indictment on his recruitment.
It is either one or the other.

I tried, but it melted down into a yawn.
