Are hand held meat pies basically an Australian thing?
I'm actually surprised they haven't taken over the world.

Pies, pasties and sausage rolls were invented by the Poms. Like Cricket and tennis. We just perfected them.
I went into the MCG tonight. Straya.
Near 70,000 people at a sporting contest. fans weren't segregated, no hooligans or punch ons (that I saw), people passionately cheering on their team without resorting to violence against opposition supporters.
A few Police around, leaning up against walls with nothing to do
Line up for the train home, supporters from both teams on the trains, no security or Police visible, yet no problems.

I was in my normal spot, where were you?
We had a couple of cocky cnuts in front of us too, one was begging for a visit to the dentist but no one got sucked in which is great to see.
Add to that the way the crowd has just accepted all the rigmarole with getting in the ground. Go out for a smoke at a break means having to get the bag checked again and get swiped down with the metal detectors, again, but it all works quickly and people cruise through it.
I couldn't see it working that well in Europe _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
