With James Pattinson and Pat Cummins returning successfully in the current SS round, it presents a juicy possibility for the upcoming Ashes series - esp. for the 3rd. Test at the WACA.

Imagine: Starc, Hazza, Patto and Cummins as a 4 pronged pace attack. Smile

It would require either leaving out the spinner or playing 5 bowlers, with the 'keeper batting at #6.

Starc, Pattinson and Cummins are all capable with the bat, as well. Patto is 54 n.o. as I write and Cummins batted at #7 for NSW and scored 42. We've seen Starc's batting.

We won't.

It used to fascinate/annoy me when overseas teams would obviously doctor wickets to suit their home team but pretend such a thing didn't happen.

Before Pakistan had any pacemen, their wickets were devoid of grass. Interesting how their curators suddenly started to present variations of greentops - just when Imran, Sarfraz, Younis and Akram started playing. Smile

When Ganguly captained India, he had a big falling out with the curator of the upcoming Test wicket. Said curator then served up a delicious wicket for the Aussie quicks - if I remember correctly, Pigeon, Dizzy and Kaspa.

Australia duly won and Ganguly fumed. At that point, it was no longer denied that some countries doctored their wickets to suit the local bowling attacks.
