When and Where:
11:30am this Saturday at Collingwood HQ.

Broadcast:
N/A

Team:
8. Tom Langdon
17. Callum Brown
23. Lachlan Keeffe
27. Kayle Kirby
34. Mitch McCarthy
35. Sam McLarty
36. Brayden Sier
44. Liam Mackie
45. Max Lynch
48. Lachlan Tardrew
49. Michael Chippendale
50. Alex Woodward

54. Jordan Collopy
55. Ryan Pendlebury
56. Stephen Tahana
57. Ash Close
58. Kye Beveridge
60. Jordan Kelly

62. Adrian Indovino
63. Marty Hore
64. Campbell Lane
66. Dale Hinkley
68. Matt La Fontaine
69. Jack Blair

There really isn't anything else to add at this stage, except to posit that a few youngsters who have not been seen during the JLT Community Series by way of injury will make their first appearance in Collingwood colours alongside a couple of already existing fringe dwellers, as well as being the first chance for the new arrivals to the VFL list over the summer to play alongside each other in something resembling an actual match against opposition of the level.

It will also be the last chance for Collingwood diehards based in Melbourne who aren't up for a trip into coal country to watch some stress-free footy in person before the seniors run out for Round 1, with the bulk of the list on tour in Moe for their final JLT Series match (don't worry, I'll look out for them!) There will be some overlap with game timing between the two matches, so I would recommend bringing along a good transistor radio, keeping the eye on the smartphone, or heading off to a screen at three quarter time.

So, without further delay... it's over to you...

It's worth going to this game just to watch McLarty. Hope he starts forward. He looks a classy footballer. McCarthy is very raw. I would be comparing him to Marsh. He could make it as a CHB but it will take time to find his feet. Kirby has the build of a NRL player - very broad shouldered and looks to have plenty of strength to break tackles. Moves very well and will surprise with the ground he can cover. Lynch is a traditional ruckman who can play forward a bit - needs to find more of the ball. Sier I would be expecting to play as a mid, but he needs to build up his aerobic running capacity. Mackie is a running half back who is a good mark, but doesn't quite have the polish of a Ramsay or Maynard. The aim of Brown and Langdon will be to get through the game and work on their fitness.

Congratulations to young Gus Borthwick on being named captain in Hellier's absence. The lad is just 20 and it is a testament to his personal qualities that he's been asked to lead the side.

Okay, so I've got good news and I've got bad news.

The bad news is, you won't be hearing from me this week, as I will be watching the seniors playing a little later on up in Moe, so I won't be providing scores for this match.

But the good news is, our good friend Dave The Man has agreed to swing into the breach and provide updates on the VFL today. Any questions, direct them to him.

We're counting on you Dave, so don't let us down! Smile

Do a search on the hashtag #vflmagpies in twitter.

@collingwoodfc is tweeting some stuff, but not heaps.

Apparently Kirby kicked a running goal from 50 in the first after 3 bounces.

Kirby with one, two... make that three bounces as he runs along the wing. Takes a 👀 over his shoulder before kicking inside 50. #vflmagpies

Well, actually he may not have got a goal, just went for a run?
