If you go back and watch Buckley's Thursday (from memory) pre-game press conference he was asked specifically about what he has been considering for himself if the decision was made to not renew his contract.

Read between the lines what you will - and it can be interpreted in any way you like - but it was the first time I got the feeling he may actually stick his hand up and walk himself.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me. The strain and pressure he has been under the past 24 months has been immense, maybe he has had enough himself.

I have no doubt he would be a sought after man across a number of roles within the footy industry.

Nathan to me seems a person who likes to determine his own destiny--just my opinion of course

Given that's the case he may well say "I'll decide my future thank you"

And further to that don't see him staying to line his pockets if he feels he is holding use back

The way I read Buckley's comments at the time was that he wanted to see what the report had to say and that that would partly inform his decision about going or staying ... if given the choice.

If the report says for instance that he's lost the players or that they think he's a good bloke but a bad coach then I believe that would be enough for Buckley to say thanks for the oppportunity but its time to go.

Similarly, if the report made recommendations that he disagreed with then again he might say thanks but I see my future elsewhere. For instance, Buckley may believe that a senior coach needs more input into list management decisions and if the report did not support that he'd have to consider his position.
