Elliott was always going to be given the extra week to make sure after his previous history I think it's the club being overly cautious with a prized asset. I expect him to get up this week

At the end of tuesday, over a week since the last injury update.
Nothing from the Club.
Sounds like the social club.....chirp....chirp.....chirp.

Varcoe with the 52 day (and counting) hamstring injury, yet is no guarantee to even play against the Hawks, let alone this weekend.

Trying to break the world record for a "hamstring awareness" injury as it was explained to us when he did the injury late in the Cats game.

The best thing about bye weekends passing is not the return to playing. It's the return of our injury updates!

Do I detect just a hint of 'morning after' voice from our man Walshy there? I think I do!

No doubt he was celebrating hard after Ron Todd's long overdue admission into the Hall of Fame. Fair enough, too.

Also, we see you sneaking Mitch McCarthy into a long term injury there, Collingwood. We see you!

There was a report on the AFL website a couple of weeks post the Geelong game saying that he had a setback at training that week, which you would think now was actually a tear of the hammy.

Ben Reid in after 5 weeks.
We are desperate.
Which is true.
Personally I reckon he should have went thru the VFL first.
Hope he doesn't breakdown in the first half.

Great to have Reidy and Goldy back, Reidy belongs in AFL not VFL

Yes he does belong in the AFL.
But what is the chance of him breaking down again?
Conservatively, you would play him 1 game in the VFL to see the state of things.

On this week's edition of everyone's favourite show...

Where's Walshy this week? Why, he's been moved upstairs to better lodgings! Our intrepid football department manager and his faithful sidekick plasma screen now sit in front of the panoramic window in the board room, giving them a more prestigious aura, especially with the way this week's scene has been lit. About time our heroes got the respect they deserve!

(On a serious note, for those wondering why McCarthy has gone from 10-12 to 4-6 in the space of a week, it's because the surgery took out a bone spur, while the navicular was fine, so not as bad as first thought...)

Interestingly, the injury list on afl.com.au updated today has Goldy on it, with shoulder TBC. It doesn't have McCarthy on it, so maybe it can't be trusted.

Elliot, Varcoe, Mayne and Scharenberg would be four solid ins for Crocker, Brown, Aish and Phillips.

I dont think Phillips and Aish deserve to be dropped just yet, but with these 4 inclusions, we are starting to look a lot more like the team that the coaching staff envisaged at the start of the season.

Howe, Dunn, Goldsack
Langdon, Reid, Maynard
Varcoe, Adams, Sidey
DeGoey, Mayne, Hoskin-Elliot
Elliot, Moore, Faz

Grundy Pendles, Treloar

Greenwood, Crisp, Scharenberg, Broomhead

You see that the team is still crying out for a legit CHF!!!!

On that timeline you would imagine that Oxley is finished for the year.
