Well the club has confirmed that all 3 Wells, Goldy and Elliot won't play this weekend.
Goldy - broken shoulder bone but not badly seperated.
Elliot - ankle and in a moon boot.
Both will be assessed as to how long out next week.
So who knows with this.
As for Wells - it is a calf and will be out for the medium term.
So my assessment of minimum 8 weeks is looking good.
Both Wells and Reid don't look good for the long term.
I will say Wells will be lucky to finish out next year.

If you saw the vision of his calf going then if we get more than 10 to 15 more games out of him I would be surprised.

Why don't you make a prediction or are you just scared of putting your neck on the line like a lot of other posters.
So sniping away is the prefered medium.

Ha ha that's rich ! I reckon Wells will be back in six to eight if you must ask I base these facts after speaking to my Calf Tarot reader and Jana Pittman's knee. Oh I don't just snipe I gouge as well - " Gouge away, you can Gouge away"

So there's no problem with training methods, Blah, blah, blah! If we keep drinking the Kool-Aid, they'll keep serving it up and those of us who REALLY want us back where we should be will be watching the cricket and cursing the gullible folks who cost us yet another season.
Anyway, rant over, heads back in the sand chaps!!

Giants are on top of the ladder and have unquestionably thew worst injury record at the moment. So what to do. Sack the coach for causing all these injuries or extend him because he has guided his team to first place.

Shit happens. If your old guys are your speedsters, eventually they will get his with soft tissue injuries. I have always been amazed how AFL footballers are expected to train like marathon runners and then perform high impact, burst and direction changing activities.

Mostly very reasonable E, Certainly injuries are unavoidable & every side gets them, no doubt. that will always account for some of an injury list, but when you have ten STI's as well, and for 6 years running, there surely must be something wrong, surely that makes sense?

I tell you, if you go back through lists, and see who is missing from the full list each week, for each side, you will find that no other side has had even 3 years of the kind of "bad luck" we've had, which started in 2012. No one else has got close to our number of injuries for 6 years, so SOMETHING must be wrong, surely?

Sure, it is theoretically possible Bucks could just be the unluckiest bloke in footy history, but far more likely, by a country mile, is that there is a systemic problem with our methods. Maybe its another factor. Maybe the carpet in the rooms is too fluffy? But I can't think of another reasonable scenario... can anyone else?

Waiting...
Meanwhile Monday is our season. If we don't show up, like we seem to do against these "middle" sides (StK, carl, Melb, Ess) our season is stuffed. Our best finish becomes 7th or 8th.
If we win we should be in the 8 (if one of the WA sides loses), and just a tiny chance for the top 4 (we'd only be 2 games out, 3 games from 2nd), and the top sides hold no great fear for for us at our best. (Adelaide seems to be a worry, but the rest? Kick straight & we win!)

I do agree that It is possible to win with a long injury list, Footscray did it. It depends greatly on how our 18-22 players go, Daicos, Kirby, Brown, Crock, etc. If they take to it like ducks to water we're looking great. If they take a season or so, not so great.
We'll hafta wait & see, but christ I wish it was Monday!

No, wait, I don't.

Yes,I do!

Well,not really

Yes, bring it on! I'm confident!

Not really...

Maybe I'll put a Grey Nurse on the Dees! That should stuff them!

Oh god, not another draw!

Don't we only have three soft tissue injuries, Wells, Reid and Varcoe? Out of a list of 44 that's pretty good to me. No need to panic. The list is in good shape. Melbourne have more injuries than us, so no excuses if we lose on Monday.

You are kidding right?

Elliot is the main reason we have looked dangerous in our forward line and Goldsack has been outstanding in defence.

2 huge loses.

I said soft tissue injuries. They're the things clubs can avoid through good preparation. Elliot's injury was a player falling over his ankle. Goldsack was injured in a contest. At the start of the season Goldsack wouldn't have been factored into our best 22. Elliot didn't even play last year. At training this morning we had two back in White and Aish and Reid, Sinclair, Wills and Varcoe aren't far away from resuming. Compared to the previous 3 seasons we are in a much better place. Melbourne are worse off with Hogan, Gawn and Brayshaw, all best 22 players out injured. To use injuries as an excuse if we lose to Melbourne is misrepresenting the situation.

Really?^By my calculation we've got at least five of our best 22 out, which makes us more injury depleted than Melbourne.

It's remarkable that Goldy played out the whole match against Fremantle despite sustaining a serious shoulder injury.

The man is a warrior!
