A big game between the top two on the ladder in the Championship as Brighton (1st) host Newcastle United (2nd).

Brighton have the most home points (42) this season, however, Newcastle United have the most away points (35) this season.

Should be a good game!

And Newcastle get up in the second half.

Always felt that the toon was too good for this league, but they've been rather flat at times.

Massive win tonight.

The Toon have a tough run home but the beauty of it is every game is worth double points as they put space on rivals with a win.

A fantastic come-from-behind victory trailing 1-0 with ten minutes remaining. Brighton could have opened up a four point lead at the top but instead NUFC now lead by two points and will be full of confidence heading into the next two crucial away games (at Huddersfield and Reading).

A stat that shows just how important that win at Brighton could prove to be...

The team top of the Championship at the end of February has gone on to be automatically promoted in 13 of the last 14 seasons, while over the last decade the team second in the table heading into March have gone up just three times!

Big win.

Honestly, they should hold on from here. But they really should be further in front.

Too good for the Championship.

Will be interesting to see where they end up in next years Premier League.

Well things have certainly changed.

Brighton have one hand on the trophy with 4 games to go. (4 points up).

I was at the Newcastle match last night where the game was won until 90+5 when Leeds equalised. Huge opportunity lost.

However, both Newcastle and Brighton are almost assured to be in the PL next season.

Awesome Presti!! St James' Park is top on my bucket list. As well as a few away games travelling with the Geordies.
You going to any more while there????

How's this for the modern world we live in - I watched the game live, on my phone, on a mate's farm whilst away camping, with no wifi and just 2 bars of 4G reception.
I got a sick feeling when Mitro and Shelvey were stuffing around in the corner wasting time; wish it had'Ve been the scotch coming back up or something..... Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

So close to our best against Leeds - 2-1/2 days later close to our worst against Ipswich. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

As they say, it's now squeaky bum time!

Brighton will go on from here to take the title. And good on them.

Newcastle have themselves to blame, but should still find themselves in the Premier League next season.

3 games left and one more win should just about seal it. Could have done with at least a point against Ipswich.

I might try to get to the game in Cardiff, but I'm back at work today so it's a bit harder.

Once they are officially in the PL and the fixture comes out, I will circle some games that I'll try for.

Beat Preston on Monday and Newcastle are officially into the Premier League next season.

Some upsets today have made it very hard for Newcastle to not finish second. In fact they can still finish on top (unlikely).

We'd need Bristol and Aston Villa do do us a favour and prevent Brighton from getting more than 2 points.

Newcastle would then have to win all three of their remaining games, but you can live in hope I guess.

So Huddersfield is the only team that can steal 2nd spot?

Leeds with 0 points in their last 2 games, very costly.

Fulham with 12 points in their last 4 games.

It'll be an interesting final few rounds.

Huddersfield can attain a maximum of 87 points, so Newcastle need another win to guarantee promotion.
