The AFL have made significant upgrades to the service this year (I think it's got to do with Foxtel's deal [see third para] http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-announces-new-tv-broadcast-deal-with-fox-sports-and-seven/news-story/c5a5c857a4b02f8b1790b30e4dfba55d).
The service now streams at 1080p if you have enough bandwidth (>5.5Mbps) and the refresh rate is either vastly improved or there's some sort of smoothing software which makes it look equal to or better than 30fps. Looked truly marvelous on my mate's 75" 4k TV on the weekend (yes, full screen and no blacked out areas, Jackcass).
Well worth a try, although, there's no way to avoid paying for a subscription when the JLT series finishes. |
Thanks T2.
I get the subscription free as a Telstra customer. Used extensively last season. |
You get the Foxtel subscription free or AFL Live Pass? If you refer to Live Pass I am not sure you can stream it to a TV. I know you can stream Foxtel Play to a TV and therefore if you have the Sports package you can watch ALF channel on your TV in that manner. Barry has done it with his Samsung tablet with HDMI cables but not sure if you can through Apple devices - they don't have any ports! |
AFL Live Pass. Yep, stream from my Apple phone. |

Try it from your phone as well if the tablet only provides a reduced screen. |

The AFL Live app can be Chromecasted to your TV on an Androin device. The quality ain't that great, but watchable. _________________ Pies Forever |

So you streamed from your iPhone to your TV, but what with, an Apple TV? _________________ "The night is a very dark time for me" Chaz Michael Michaels |
