Totally agree.
We are by far the least skilled team.
Very very poor recruiting.
Seems we put all our eggs in the mo Hope basket.

Careful I have already been censored twice on here for just having an opinion that does not concur with all sweetness and honey re the womens team. freedom of opinion and speech here is going the way of fake news Trump. Rolling Eyes

I think the only reason AFLW is successful is because the media and people in general are too afraid to say what they really think for fear of being branded sexist.

They look really unfit and most hesitate when an opponent goes for a mark. Mo hope is the worst offender, slow and misses tackles consistently. When the game was to be won she kicked a point. Why the hype? Yawn.

Can't wait for the inevitable break away Women's Little League at half time. I wonder if we'll be able to leave our seats at the half time break for fear of being a male Nazi??

Yep, and that's the way of the snowflake world we now live in.
Will they get a participation trophy at seasons end I wonder?

The fact that the garbage is in GD is an out and out disgrace and an insult to the Collingwood Football Club.

The media have over hyped it (as they do most things).
Skill level is nowhere near AFL but those involved didn't expect it to be.
As Peta Searle has said women have to develop their own style of game.

At the moment it is successful as you have girls and young women excited about the opportunity to play footy at the top level. There are now clubs in the ammos (VAFA) and country putting together women's teams.

Whether the comp can be sustained remains to be seen, but if it gets people off their butts and doing something then great. Rather have my daughter look up to Alicia Eva rather then the Kartrashians .

That is playing 15 minute quarters with two less players on the field and a smaller football which doesn't travel as far. Taken in this context it's not surprising that fewer goals are scored.

There's still plenty to like about watching women's football. McCarthy's run down the field with 3 Collingwood players in pursuit was exciting to watch. We just shouldn't be making comparisons between the two separate competitions. In time the competition will improve. We'll get better at it and start winning and the game will find its own audience and some of us who aren't so predujice will like the sport for what it is, just like the netball competition attracts its own audience.
