Lynden Dunn, welcome aboard

WHEeeeeeeeee. This kid looks good.

Daics = smooth

De Go Go is a young bull. Carried the midfield when it was there to be won, crashed through tackles, absolute blue chip gun in waiting.

When players get tired, big blokes don't get any smaller. Some of Cox's tapwork in that last quarter was bloody brilliant

Considering the personnel on the field for both teams, very good win, lots of positive signs, several things to work on

Second that. Thanks, Stui Smile

Mason Cox does some very smart things, considering he hadn't even heard of Aussie Rules, a few short years ago.

I can't believe you can't believe.

Unfortunately I don't hold out much hope for Sinclair or Broomhead going forward.

Always nice to win, and spread of goal kickers was great. It's only one game, but we look better without Cloke. Ball movement was so much better too,

but

Up til 3/4 time, Bombers kicked 10 goals from Collingwood turnovers which isn't good.

Ist practice match mid February; I wouldn't draw too many conclusions.

Yeah, Broomhead was hardly sighted tonight. Must have been the bananas before the game.

Yep, Sinclair can't seem to win a trick. Really feel sad for him, as he has shown over the years that he has talent, but his body always seems to let him down.

Really solid return by Jamie. He did all the things he was doing in 2015 - flying for marks, kicking goals and tackling hard. Great to see.

My man looked a bit rusty and off the pace, but as the season wears on, if we ever need a spare man loose in defence, he'd be the one I reckon.

Shoosh. we're going to amputate his foot and graft it onto Swanny. We just need to work through the insurance and AFL rules so we can redraft Swanny.

Do you know a decent lawyer?

Nothing much to take from the game except that Elliott and Keeffe have come back well from their layoffs.

Everything else we already knew and we won't learn much of value till the season proper. Too much difference between effort levels, hardness at the ball etc, to read anything at all from pre-season games. It's a bad sign for our structures that we needed a late comeback, just like last year, but even that's not a huge thing just yet.

Saw the first half down the pub with Mrs WPT . Listened to most of the rest.
Poor ol' Sinkers. Crisp is a barometer I reckon. When he plays well we play well. Problem is we need him to play well more often. He was reasonably good.

SEN radio spoke about Daics's clean deft touches while 3AW spoke about crime on the streets. Radio national spoke about footy & the Arts but I digress.

WHE's first goal showed a touch of class & never looked like missing as soon as he got the ball. Lot to like there.

Difficult to take anything away from the game, especially with key personnel missing. Both teams had their purple patches, but both were defensively inept on many occasions as well.

Very happy to see Elliott get through unscathed. He's hugely crucial for our prospects this year and having him back in the forward line will only benefit us.

De Goey was the standout for mine. If that's a sign of things to come for this year, then we're on a big winner with him. Looked very determined and played smart football tonight.

Phillips is another good prospect in the making. Just needs to have better penetration on his kicking, but can't doubt the effort he displays.

Hoskin-Elliott showed some glimpses of the talent he possesses. Took a wonderful one-handed mark in the last quarter and generally looked skilful with ball in hand.

Early days with Daicos, but definitely a lot to like from what I saw in the last quarter.

A shame that Sinclair's bad luck with injuries continue.

The midfield will be the key for us this year, so if they're up and about we'll do reasonably well especially with Grundy rucking. The forward line is touch and go at this stage, but definitely has the potential to be very potent if it begins to functions well as a cohesive unit.

Defence still remains the biggest concern, but hopefully the likes of Dunn, Schade, Maynard, Reid and Smith amongst others will begin to understand each other's strengths and weaknesses and will adapt as time goes on.

Nice to win, but I wouldn't read too much into the overall result. After all, we won all our pre-season matches last year and then got smashed in round 1.

I got along and was stuck in enemy terrority with the Windy Hill Whingers .
Josh Smith, Phillips ,Elliot, Crisp and De Goey were great , Will Hoskin Elliot showed some good things and Lynden Dunn was ok. Cox was good and Jessie White got better as the game progressed, it was funny hearing the Bummer fans fall away , a good start for young daicos as well , Sidey was handy as well.

Hope not - If I had a part from Sinclair I'd be afraid to go out.
