I quite enjoy watching it and think it will improve rapidly. The contests are interesting and it should be promoted more as a different style, more one on one footy. The girls are tough. I just wish our girls team wasn't such a clone of our blokes, poor disposal and shocking defence.

I'm quite shocked at how hard hey go in! My daughters friend plays with some of these women at the next level (don't know why she didn't try out, she is always in the best player lists), and my daughter has been a trainer for them. I have to say, I'm glad junior chose netball! And she has spent enough time in emergency at the hospital playing that! Good on them.

But gees, we suck! How can you lose from there!

They go hard but the skill level is woeful most of the time. It's work in progress and you see a great kick, mark and goal then it's followed by 10 clangers and dropped chest marks. It's junior football at times, it's developing. 16 on the field is a good idea but I struggle to watch a whole game. The media need to back off the hype (it's overkill) as they will kill it. The pretend male practice matches start this week and I know what I will be watching.

Firstly for those people complaining about the skills of the game, you're watching women's football. What are you expecting?

The problem is that our skill levels are below the standard of the rest of the competition. And that's not the coaches we have. It comes down to having made poor drafting decisions in the team we assembled.

How can you make positive remarks about the game last night when the only position you won was the ruck? As a team, our kicking skills are deplorable, our decision making is poor, we run into empty space, we don't support each other, we fail to respond when put under pressure and worst of all, when losing we play the opposition player rather than concentrate on the ball.

Our best player is our captain. She at least has a football brain, but she looks slow on the field.

Where to go from here? We need to regroup and look at what we need to do to improve next season. I expect we'll be playing GWS for the wooden spoon in a couple of weeks. When we lose that one we can look forward to having the number 1 draft pick for next year.

I just hope our netball team is better than this.

if we were winning I think we would be praising the 'women's game' as a huge success

however we suck
we have no fitness/speed after 15 minutes

No Hope reminds me of BT after too many Friday night pies.
Midfield is hard and tough but lacks speed.

The skipper is a gem and the ruck woman is v.good.

Looks like whatever went on with recruitment and fitness is below par.
Bring on Thursday night !

It looks like we recruited for a flag this year, and will be well short.

I never told nor made sure my son keep me updated, he was running in & out telling me the score line himself. He's 8yo FFS, 8yos get excited over the smallest of things.
Next time, I'll make sure I'll tell him to STFU 'cause I DGAF!!!

How about that?

ETA: Even if we were winning, the concept is still shit!
