Seriously,i was very disappointed in what I saw.As a big supporter of women's sport,i found that game to be a real turn off.I couldn't find anything to get excited about it.

Disappointing result. I thought Carlton played far more like a team than us, much better drilled, more disciplined and fitter. We just did not gel together at all, much like our men's team of recent years as well. I saw a lot of similarities, a slow midfield that wastes the ball going forward, a forward line with no pressure and a swiss cheese defensive structure. I'm already concerned.

Couldnt play against a defence structure of +1 or +2.

Needed to play 1 on 1 after half time. Or kick to boundary going forward when out numbered.

Frustrating to watch. Crowd numbers will drop off. But great to see such a big crowd.

Yep, really disheartening.

I think there's a big future for women's footy, but it could take a decade or so to really be a great product. It needs time enough for talented pre-teen athletes to grow up with the aim of playing pro-footy and great junior development all through that period. We'll need to be patient.

As far as our team? Well, I'm surprised at how disappointed I am. I've spent my life supporting the club and those colours and it's harder to separate that terrible performance from the 'real' team than I thought it would be.

God help me if the senior side, the women's team and the netball side all suck at the same time.
