While it clearly makes some people sleep well at night to rationalise in their minds that all the people who voted for Trump are imbeciles, IMHO the reverse is true. The people who label them as imbeciles are the ones who clearly miss the point and don't get it.
Smacks of typical elitist progressive condescension.

Read Frankie Boyle's Wikipedia entry - "controversies". He's a really, deeply unpleasant piece of work with rather Trumpery tendencies. Not to say that he cannot be amusing, in a free-associative kid of way, but when it comes to mocking blind children, he beats Trump comfortably.

Boyle's darkest, blackest comedy, or even how good or bad at it he is, is surely not an issue.
I enjoy black comedy, but I wouldn't go in his direction, though that's not an issue no matter how infuriating or insulting (except perhaps as far as his personal PR is concerned, which is his choice).
Of course it's condescension, though. Time to move on from that, agreed, as damned hard as it can be

Trump doesn't seem to be able to comprehend that he's the President of a nation of people now and not the egotistical CEO of a business bearing his name.
Donald doesn't seem to get that without all the checks and balances in place like a constitution and legal system the people wouldn't get a President they'd get a dictator.
