Honestly don’t know what to feel about all this Russia stuff. Manafort was obviously always a crook and a Putinist from the beginning, but is this all a massive storm in a teacup? The Democrats and centre-left newspapers like the New York Times seem to not be coping with the election results very well and seem to be clutching at any straws they can find – aided and abetted by a gung-ho FBI.

The slightly surprising thing is that 37% of Americans polled approve of the way he is handling his job.

Gillespie wasn't a Trump ally, he's an establishment Republican. VA is a blue state anyway, but this election was a 'hold your nose' when voting. Not too much to read into it about Trump.

You posted the leftiest left news sources on the race, so here's one from the rightest of the right for balance.

Very much so. The Democrats won 13 - 0 in the Presidential election.

While polls throughout the campaign showed Clinton leading Republican Donald Trump by varying margins in Virginia, it was announced on October 13 that the Trump campaign was pulling its resources out of the state, likely ceding to Clinton what was perceived to be a critical battleground state. According to the Trump campaign, the reason for pulling out of Virginia was to compete in more critical battleground states like Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio.

Breitbart isn't "balance" - it's just an ultra-right-wing propaganda source. Nor are the Washington Post or The Guardian "leftist". It's a measure of how extreme your views are that you think that might be a remotely sensible thing to say.

They're both leftist, WaPo leans left the Guardian is unashamedly left. The only way you'd think otherwise is if like all the crazy leftards you think you're a centrist.

Of course Breitbart is a right wing publication, I was balancing your two lefty ones. I notice you either didn't bother with the point that VA is a blue state or read the article to see things from both sides; the Right and the wrong.

To be fair I think the left-wing equivalent of Breitbart would be something more like New Matilda. The Guardian is more like the left-wing counterpoint to The Wall Street Journal, or, in its more trivial moments, The Daily Mail.

The test will be the Mid Terms. Everything else left and right is irrelevant. Despite playing a shitload of Golf, Trump hasn't really done anything yet. A war with North Korea will give him a poll boost though.

Meanwhile ; on the anniversary of Trumps election a protest event in the form of a pointless day of wailing and gnashing of teeth at the sky has taken place.

Could be cathartic! Perhaps we need to try that here...

No need - if you wait long enough, they'll be unseated as dual citizens. Wink

Interesting site, cheers.

It rates the Herald Sun as centre right and the Aged as centre left, which is pretty much what I expected.
