Oh
My
God!

Now there's a how embarrassment right there! What a tool. Yep sack him, agree with this guy:
"Brian Schatz, a Democratic senator from Hawaii, tweeted: “I find nothing funny about the Press Secretary bungling holocaust history. Because I’m not sure they should get the benefit of the doubt.” Both Cardin and Schatz are Jewish."

These people are in power? That is seriously scary.

^^^ I thought Spicer's acknowledgement of the existence of "Holocaust Centres" was the most telling bit - that he apparently couldn't bring the expressions "extermination camps", "concentration camps" or "gas chambers" to the front of his mind under pressure is likely, sadly, to be indicative of his real views on the subject.

Yeah that really is very telling, and so bloody disrespectful! He makes them sound like holiday camps or welfare organisations.

Lot of Jewish people in the USA, and they certainly won't appreciate it. Pass the popcorn for the backlash.

^ in other news, Sean Spicer is exposed as an idiot and an inarticulate buffoon. It is lucky we found out now, as he has hidden it so well hitherto.

On the upside, it's kind of a miracle that these guys have even heard about anything that happened before 1980.

The Clinton News Network seems to be coming around to Trump. Shocked

Things could get very serious very quickly with North Korea if Trump does something stupid.

Trouble is when it comes to Trump wild thoughts of him being an actual agent of Russia, a puppet of some secretive organisation or merely a servant of the American war machine and the companies who stand to make billions from the conflict of war aren't so far fetched.

Even his supporters would have to admit you can't say with any comforting certainty what he may do if North Korea go ahead with another nuclear or ballistic missile test.

It's a recipe as old as the hills. People love a good bombing.

I found this a good analysis of what he's doing:

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/apr/14/donald-trump-afghanistan-bomb-syria-wild-card

Quote:
Now the president has tasted the sweet cup of war. A measure of his absurdity is that the beneficiary of the Massive Ordnance Air Blast (Moab) missile dropped on the Afghan mountains will be the local rivals of its alleged Isis victims, the rebel Taliban. It is doubtful that Trump worries about this irony. He just wanted to be seen, as he once put it, to “bomb the shit out of Isis”. He is now so hooked on gesture bombings that he holds a press conference to boast of each one.

The obscenity of the US’s legally questionable power projection is that it wins no battles and gains no territory. Western armies are clearly exhausted by fruitless ground wars in distant parts of the world. As a result, drones, cruise missiles and Moabs are forced to bear the burden of “something must be done”. As the mistakenly bombed civilians of Mosul know to their cost, the targeting is inexact, but the political aim is precise. It is to secure publicity by terrifying distant places with displays of death and destruction.

^ yeah, the Grauniad- a superior and self-regarding poodle living under the protection of the Western military every day while dining on the hand that feeds it.

i find it hard to get excited if the US drops a very large bomb on a bunch of IgnorantState fighters. the North Korea escalation, on the other hand, is genuiely alarming, and the first time Trump's loaded dog has careered off with the stick of dynamite between its teeth, as predicted. The effects could range from hellish to wholly positive, but it's not a risk that the world needs.

This particular display seems to have cost about $450,000 per death for each of the 36 "ISIS militants":

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/apr/14/moab-attack-isis-baffling-choice-cold-blooded-terms-cost-afghanistan

Really, if the Pentagon had asked nicely, the guys they killed would probably have topped themselves for a US government payment of half that to each of their families.
