Do Nicksters think he could oust one of those?

Will he make top ten in 2017?

Straight away:
*Natinui will miss almost the entire season.

*Sandilands and Maric, although may have been better in their prime, are well passed it now. Both wont play the bulk of the season anyway.

*Mumford IF he plays a full season is probably still better. But he'd need to play a full season.

*Ryder has missed a season and I think on the decline anyway.

*Tippett goes missing when it matters.

*Goldstein & Gawn are still the clear standouts.

But yes, Grundy is easily in the top 10 rucks in the AFL right now. Easily.

I don't think Grundy did himself any favours in 2016. The difference btween his pre-bye form (averaged something like 85-86 points) and post-bye form (something like 107-108 points) was stark.

Most of list are ruckman but #7 Tippett is a forward for mine

Least wise he came to Sydney as a forward

So why pick him ahead of a genuine ruckman

Tippett spent most the year as a ruck who went forward.

All clubs have fill in rucks who play forward as well as rucks as a cameo roll

I just see Brodie as a true all time ruckman

Is it wrong to say that I think Nic Nat is overrated?

Certainly not a consistent 4 quarter performer, especially around the ground, but some of his best work is just sublime. Not sure if that makes over-rated or not.

Doesn't quite have the body to match the freaky shit his mind thinks up. Has spent a lot of time injured. Add to that, the general awkwardness he displays having come from a non-traditional background and yeah, I doubt his actual output would ever match the commentator hype. Pretty bloody useful player when he's fit though.

As to Grundy, well I think you'll find him heading that list soon enough. But right now, he's just got a bunch of potential and a very promising end to 2016. All of CD's best player lists are taken over a couple of years or more because 1 season is too short a time to rate a player. Was that excellent season the sign of a career on the blossom or was it a Cooney/Woewodin kinda thing?
