Dave, why is the ground a joke. It was designed as a training ground conveniently located right next to our clubrooms. It is a much better option than Gosch's Paddock which it replaced. Despite reports that the surface was a bit hard in the dryer weather it is still one of the best training grounds in the competition.
When these decisions were made the women's competition did not exist. It is pretty easy to be smart retrospectively.

Then why are Women's and VFL Game Scheduled There Then?

Bingo.
It's a training ground. Anything that will attract a crowd of more than 1000 just doesn't work there. it's not designed to cater to a crowd.
When crowd expectations increase, the game get's moved.
it's actually not a bad place to watch footy, I'd prefer to go there than price fixer park'

Its relatively simple Dave. When they first scheduled the games, the anticipated crowd size was smaller than what they expect now.
Large-enough crowds turned up to unadvertised practice matches to make the AWFL reconsider where the first game should be played.
"EddieLand" and "joke" are pretty harsh terms for a Collingwood supporter to use, aren't they? |
