Won't happen. My mobile is in my work bag, if it rings I can answer and talk. No visual indicator for the Police to pull me over except a silly old fart driving along yapping/singing to himself.
ban the bluetooth in cars, use a bluetooth earpiece in the left ear. Again, no visual clues.
It's the tools who need to look at the phone screen while driving that are a problem _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Heres an idea to stop motorists using their phones take away their licence. Fines and other slaps on the wrist arent working. Cars are weapons and in the hands of the foolish, they can kill.
In 2016, drivers on their phones caused more deaths than any other year. And these are only the fatalities we know about.
Over the past decade in Queensland, men have racked up 189,000 fines compared with 92,500 for women. Blokes aged 21-49 are the worst offenders, so its not just a Generation Text teen problem. |

Yep, should be instant loss of license, no excuses. If your driving, put it on silent/turn it off and put it in your glovebox.
I saw a chick on the freeway the other day, mobile phone in one hand, fixing her make up with the other .... must of been steering with her knees. Unbelievable. |
Being a regular bicycle rider I see this far too much. Frightening at times. I call it out & embarrass people if they don't put it away after a simple stare. I have been known to yell out & keep yelling out murderer to the people who are driving & continue to text / talk etc when we are all stuck at red lights near the city ( I know a cyclist who stops at red lights, fancy that) - having said that I tell off cyclists who go through red lights too or don't stop at tram stops etc - cyclists can't afford not to obey the rules coz it stuffs it up for the rest of us but I digress _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Did a little bit of driving yesterday, Greenwood to the Casino & back, approximately 40 km round trip.
Car exiting the Tunnel in front of me suddenly slows to about 60km/h (80 zone), i go around it and sure enough, a chick blabbing on the phone.
Waiting at a red light, a car turning on the green goes across the intersection, driver is obviously texting as he's turning.
Chick on the freeway, goes past me at around 120km/h (100 zone), phone to ear, looking in rearview mirror adjusting her hair.
Waiting at a set of lights, turns green, car in front doesn't move, he's on the phone and needs a honk b4 he realises it's green.

They can do this, but not an inbuilt breathalyser? Or an enforced upper speed limit tied to area restrictions? Come on, guys! If we're going to do this nanny state thing, let's do it right. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Drivers who do it are not quite as stupid or dangerous as cyclists who ride up the bicycle line on the wrong side of the road whilst talking on their hand-held mobile. Tell me you've never seen it. |

I would bet that mobile phone use us a bigger contributor to road incidents than speeding or drink driving now.
A speed restrictive device would be just plain moronoic. Speed can be used to evade an incident and imagine trying to overtake?
Inbuilt breathtaking devices are mandatory for halfwits who don't get the messsge already David.
Mobile phones + driving = accident waiting to happen. I think it's a great idea. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

Mobile phones + driving = accident waiting to happen. I think it's a great idea. | yeah I agree. Even with Bluetooth you can get distracted. -I nearly crashed looking for a number on the dash! Now I pull over and find the number! But I reckon a complete ban is a really good idea _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Christ almighty, you used to have to change the radio station by turning a dial on the radio, push eject to spit out a cassette tape to turn it over.
Now people have Sat nav's in the car which they stare at instead of where they're going.
fair enough to ban people from using the phone in their hand to message or check social media but if you ban people from having a conversation on the phone while driving, what's next? Women don't seem to be able to hold a conversation without turning their head toward the person they're talking to, I've watched this so many times while driving it's ridiculous. Do we ban women talking while driving? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Simple. Charge users with low level dangerous driving. Take phone as evidence and hand back sim. Igf it is a works phone the boss will get pissed off. If privately owned they willhave to buy a new one. Give back when goes to court. Lets see a day or 2 off work.Wait 6 months or more to get phone back. Either put a hands free in your car or forget. Taxi drivers don't seem to have an issue. 2nd offence phone destroyed. 3rd car impounded for 12 months. (It is Dads car, well Dad you just learnt a lesson). If you cannot get to home and work without using social media use public transport. If not near public transport move if facebook is more important to you than the people you endanger. BTW same should happen serial drink drivers. Impound the car.If it is stolen fair enough but "I borrowed from a mate| then they are equally culpable If you lend a car to an unlicensed, irresponsible or drunk person you should pay a price and if that isyour car bad luc. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

Damn right it is
But how often have you seen through their rear car window, women turning their head to speak to someone else in the car and consequently have the car drift to the left? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
