This looks like it will be over fairly quickly, disappointing but we can't seem to get it right. Fought well but can't last 5 days!

Just like to add that there is no shame losing to India they are a bloody tough side to beat at there home!

Would be nice if the likes of Marsh and Handscome can bat out for most of the day!

Well, Maxwell regularly gets wickets in the IPL, but here he only bowls 4 overs, which is an absolute joke. Smith is well liked by his players, but he is no tactician and has no idea how to play Maxwell. Typical New South Welshman who favours his own. Hascomb is a number 4 batsman but has to bat behind Shaun Marsh who I expect to make a duck tomorrow. Sad indictment of our national selectors who favour NSW and WA players. We have spin bowlers back in Australia who actually would have found spin on the flat Indian pitches (Zampa, Holland et al), but hacks like Agar get picked instead.

Correct on all counts, apart from Marsh, surprisingly....

Lol; our national team: Western New South Wales?!

Wow, great session Aussies.
Shocked that the wicket is not playing as bad as last night.
I bet the Indians really want the new ball.

So well done to Marsh and Handscomb for stonewalling most of the day, thus covering up Smith's inept stunned mullet captaincy tactics, and Wade's butter fingers behind the stumps.

What happened, Dyso ?

I only heard praise for Wade's 'keeping. Even the great Wally Grout would've missed a few of those. Smile

In the circumstances, Marsh did just enough. On another day, if Handscomb hadn't been solid as a rock, Marsh losing his wicket to a lazy defensive stroke just after he got to 50 would likely have cost them the Test and look like another nail in his coffin. Glass half full, I know, but that sort of a job must be done by the batsmen who are set - and they must do the whole job.

Pretty sure it was when that middle order partnership was forming between Pujara and Saha, O'Keefe got an low edge [can't recall which batsman] which went into Wade's shinguard, then rolled away between him and Smith at 1st slip. Didn't even get a glove on it; reflexes too slow.
O'Keefe was filthy and I don't blame him; made his figures look much worse than he bowled, which wasn't really that bad compared to Lollypop Lyon.

4th Test. Day 1, Australi batting. 1/144. Smith 83*, Warner 56*. Renshaw was out for 1. The present partnership is 134.

And that, unfortunately, is that - Warner out for 56. Marsh to the crease - a very big hundred is require, here - not an elegant 37.

Kohli isn't playing, by the way.

After a great first session it has all gone downhill, 6 for 208.

Smith made 111 Warner 56, the rest bugger all!
