Lyon and O'Keefe have bowled 72 overs for 1/214. Still no Maxwell. Sad

What surprises me is that they haven't given Shaun Marsh a bowl - he's at least as good a bowler as his brother on a wicket like this.

Those two would go on to make a 199 run stand, courtesy of lollypop merchants O'Keefe and paddlepop Lyon.
Their combined contribution to India's total is 2/330 and climbing.

The sooner these two pie throwers are exposed for the frauds they are, the better. There are better spinners in the country who are not getting a go from dickhead Lehmann.

Watch India's spinners slice through us like knives through butter tomorrow.

Well, Maxwell regularly gets wickets in the IPL, but here he only bowls 4 overs, which is an absolute joke. Smith is well liked by his players, but he is no tactician and has no idea how to play Maxwell. Typical New South Welshman who favours his own. Hascomb is a number 4 batsman but has to bat behind Shaun Marsh who I expect to make a duck tomorrow. Sad indictment of our national selectors who favour NSW and WA players. We have spin bowlers back in Australia who actually would have found spin on the flat Indian pitches (Zampa, Holland et al), but hacks like Agar get picked instead.

we will lose 100% if we try and play by being passive.
Our only hope is to really go after their bowling and whack the ball and somehow get a head of their total. Chances of losing in this manner is about 95%.
I really think Smith needs to be more aggressive in his field settings and why oh why didn't he bowl some leggies.
As I said in the beginning ..our spinners are not as good as theirs.
Would have loved to see Cummins in test 2.
Probably will not watch tomorrow...to depressing.

My prediction is that the Aussies will hold on - just - for a lucky draw but
the keys are Smith and Renshaw who just have to knock off the deficit or else we are in serious trouble.

Considering that Usman can't get a game while Warner continues to struggle in the Sub continent is baffling. In India and Sri Lanka Warner has scored 284 runs over 12 innings for an average of only 23. His previous tour of India netted him 195 runs at an average over 8 innings of 24. Warner deserved to play in the first couple of tests based on his Aussie form but I think its time he made way for Usman.

Renshaw missed the ball 3 times in a row against Jadeja last night.
He won't last against him.
That is a given.
As for Warner, he will come good., but Marsh.... nope.
Only hope is to go for a controlled slog fest and get ahead of them.
We should turn our attention to the last match next week.

The left handers are in big strife against Jadeja. We will be very lucky to bat through the day. I would love to Smith bat through the whole day (with another batsman down the other end of course)
