Quote: | She was clapped by a small group of supporters at the end of her media conference with one person stopping to ask her about her position on fluoridation.
She said fluoride should not have been forced on residents without a referendum.
"It does have a huge impact on our infants, on our little ones," she said.
"The people weren't asked, it was just forced on us." |

I eagerly look forward to One Nation's policy on chemtrails. |
Getting too much advice: this is more up the alley of nutters like Leyonhjelm & as you noted Roberts about nanny state & telling people what they should do, that is government shouldn't be telling people what they can & cannot do.

Appearing on Channel Seven's Sunrise program on Thursday, Senator Hanson conceded she had made an error and acknowledged vaccines were effective, but said the reaction to her remarks was overblown.
"I have heard a couple of doctors have said that there is no test. I do apologise. If that be the case, I am wrong," she said. "I was of the opinion that I did read that that was the case. Apparently it's not."

True Skids, she did admit that she was wrong after being taken to the cleaners. The trouble is she has given anti vaxers a message to not believe the professionals/scientists/doctors and check the links to autism (which have resoundingly been disapproved) out for themselves. As you know on the Internet you can find any article to sit with your own view. There is no conspiracy theory or dictatorship which she failed to address like all her other bullshit claims. |

The thing that annoys me most about Hanson is not that she's saying this stuff, but that she has NFI to begin with.
If she was a serious anti-vaxxer who'd read all the 'material' and come to her own opinion, that would be fine; she could present her view and people could assess it on its merits. But what this shows is that her policy research is more or less based on a mix of gut feeling and whatever dodgy thing she read the other day. Which is pretty much the same exact approach used by a certain American presidential candidate who ended up winning last November.
The people who are succeeding in our current political system are people who know little, believe in conspiracy theories and play on people's prejudices. You can't fight them with facts. It's all pretty depressing. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

I'm used to it.
people form opinions and find ways to disregard/ignore facts that disagree with their view. I've mentioned cognitive dissonance before.
The days of fact based discussion are drawing to an end. If you want to change opinions, you rely on persuasion and marketing.
Just look at how both sides of politics and the political spectrum push their ideas. Fact free zone, marketers wet dream _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
