I've seen it. It's a documentary on Hillsong.

I think you might be confusing Salo with The Wickerman, WPT. Laughing

Lesser of the two evil sister in laws turn this year, she asked me to bring roast beef and a salad, (I make the best most imaginative salads ever, no kale in sight!) , so I thought I got off easy, as my younger sister said she would host our side of the family this year, but turns out the cops are working Christmas Day, so we made it Christmas Eve, and ya know, your family is busier than ours, how about we come to you! Like every other year! But she offered to bring seafood and my other sister bought a farmers market pudding (yum). So I'll do veg, salad, BBQ!

We had 30-40 friends over last Saturday for our annual griswalds Christmas party, that and a 21st, hubby's 60th, I'm all partied out this year! I paid junior to do the Christmas cards, and did 90% of the present shopping on line,

Don't eat lamb, don't like it, and they are too cute, don't eat pig products anymore, but if there is some decent crackling, (my mum taught me how to make the best crackling and roast potatoes) I might have to pretend momentarily I didn't see that video of the pigs screaming. I'll settle for prawns, smoked salmon, and any other seafood, roast sweet potato if there is any, and veg and my salad! Any veg except Brussel sprouts, I've tried, I really have, but they are just bloody awful!

about 15 people coming to my tiny little 2 bedroom unit lol..... we will fit!

Ever since my father died 19 years ago, I've done the Cherry Baked Ham and will be doing it again this year.
Also Roast Pork, which will be served cold and CRACKLE! Cannot get enough crackle.
Others are bringing assorted Salads
I'll make a pumpkin, beetroot, carrot, spinach and pinenut salad.
We have lots of puddings (home-made as well) to have with Custard.
Pavlova if my brother remembers

and i'll eat a birds portion of it all

Yum, what dressing do you put on that salad? I make a simular one and use Vietnamese dipping sauce! Cook the pumpkin, or sweet potato, with a little cinnamon and pure maple syrup, just a splatter.

Because it's apparently on the menu at Davids this Christmas and if you've seen the movie you'd understand the connection I was making.

I will probably just slow cook a few lamb shanks with peas, carrots, Potatoes, onion and tomatoes with some red wine. Plenty of places offerring dinner arouns here but most are English which gives me plates of stuff I don't want. Sprouts, yorkshire pudding etc. I woill get some chocolate brownies and smother in custard. Anytime is good for chocolate cake and red wine.

I'm sure we've all had Mr Hankey around for Christmas at one point in our lives.

1. Chanuka lunch rather than dinner at my Mum's on the 24th:

I'll be sleeping from night shift finishing at 07.30 am.

Chanuka:Definition: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanukkah

"....commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple (the Second Temple) in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire. Hanukkah is observed for eight nights and days, starting on the 25th day of Kislev according to the Hebrew calendar, which may occur at any time from late November to late December in the Gregorian calendar. It is also known as the Festival of Lights and the Feast of Dedication...."

8 day holiday festival where foods fried foods are meant to be eaten & the giving of gifts.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. On Christmas Day I'll be going to my niece's place in Wandin (daughter of my wife's sister)

There will be far too much food: My youngest is well known for her salads & deserts. Her lemon tart is to die for & I eat that much of it it will become a self fulfilling prophesy.

The salads will be a few: Some form of lentil salad, green bean salad & all sorts. Some will be from Ottolenghi's recipes: http://www.ottolenghi.co.uk/recipes/salads

As for meats there will be a spit as well as beef, pork, chicken, hams, & prawns.

There'll be too much fruit, desert, cakes & alcohol

There'll be about 20-25 as a minimum with many others coming & going.

No honky food for me Twisted Evil

Sri Lankan favourite pan rolls for entree followed by my Mum's fabulous Sri Lankan fried rice, some fantastic home cooked curries, mango chutney and sambols, with a few vegies thrown in for fun.
Followed by some trifle, Christmas pudding and Christmas cake.
I wish I can eat but will try best with my quarter sized stomach following my gastric sleeve surgery last year. I'll have to enjoy the quality and not the quantity Razz Cool
