That was the rumour so surprised he'd come back.
I guess Pert must be on his way out to take the CEO role with the MCC.
Now we'll need a new CEO. |

My understanding was Walsh was set to wind back his football commitments and start to look at retirement. Now he is going to head back to the Pies and commit to one of the biggest jobs in football and at one of the biggest clubs and will have to put in more hours. I don't understand this unless it's all about the money. |
Yes its all about the money
No-one wants to come to Collingwood ever, we have to force them or bribe them.
Lets face it Collingwood is obviously a toxic envirement that is repulsive to any person no matter how challenging or interesting the job | Now my view came about from my experience in stepping away from my football commitments. After more than a decade of commitment I thought it was time to wind back as well. Same situation be it not at the same level or remuneration. I was offered a lot more to fill a role at another club which I turned down as I had previously stated I wanted to step away from football. But hey neil, because it's not the same way you think it has to be bad/negative. I get it, I really do. It's the modern thing to seek shelter in the company of those with similar thoughts and intelligence. |
It maybe only a one year commitment until Gubby serves his time, might make it attractive to him. ? |
I was thinking the same thing. May not necessarily be Gubby but they may have someone else in line for the role 2018 with Walshy staying around in a part time mentoring role. Money definitely wouldn't hurt. |

Collingwood is not a toxic environment. Don't just accept the garbage peddled by certain journalists with an axe to grind. _________________ Daicos, impossible angle ... Goal! |

I'd prefer Gubby to return in 12 months. Still say the whole thing was a beat up and a witch hunt. So is the Walsh appointment for 12 months, or permanent? And is Pert really leaving and if so, who is planning to replace him as CEO? |

irrespective of Walsh's motivation, the main thing is that he is a professional and he does the best job he can. That is what matters. We already know that the man is more than capable in doing the job. _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday |

It's official CollingwoodFc just tweeted.
Of all the footy bosses I prefer Walsh.
Question begs why he left in the first place and whether it was to do with pert? _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |
