The Facts are, he has strained his calf (admitted on ch 9 news) and the Club tried to cover it up as always. He is now on a modified program which is code for, yes he is injured. It's no big deal in my view, same same but different as players get injured. I don't know why the club tried to cover it up as it just makes the speculation even bigger.
For those who love to speculate, now your best 22 should be done without Wells. |

Disagree that best 22 should exclude Wells. Best 22 for round 1? Maybe, but that will also exclude Sharenberg and Elliot, but best 22 going into a finals series should, hopefully, include both. _________________ Magpies forever.

I don't know what to believe when it comes to whether Wells is injured or sustained a minor injury in training, but I think some people are overreacting when it's only the start of December.
Way too early to start panicking and making rash statements, especially without knowing the full facts of what happened in training. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

I used to enjoy watching him run around Arden St Oval, lap after lap, week in, week out. |

Not crying yet. He has plenty of time to recover. But I know club and all supporters will be EXPECTING him to be ready to go round 1.
You don't throw $500,000 a year for 3 years (at his age) to a guy with his injury record to simply accept injuries. Remember the club chased him. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

It's very disappointing that the club felt obliged to lie about this. It's like our club has a siege mentality, which becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's like there are a bunch of children running our football department. An adult response to queries about Wells would have been something like "yeah, he felt a bit of a twinge in his calf, so we're going to lighten his work load for a while until he feels 100 per cent again". It aint hard really. |

I agree RudeBoy. The club has to be more transparent with issues like this especially during the preseason when there is not tactical advantage in not given opposition teams insight into your injuries and potential weaknesses. There is certainly an aspect of integrity and keeping faith with the supporters.
Let's be honest, the chances of Wells playing for us for 3 years without injury is a very long shot. _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday |
