Warner brought up his 50 from 24 deliveries, with 6 4s and 3 6s. He's now 55 from 26. Australia is 0/66 from 8 overs. Khawaja is the other opener.

Pity the BBL guys can't hit as well as this!

Edit: - he's been bowled trying to make room to slog another 4 or 6. Australia lead by 294.

I am pretty sure Warner was told to go the Bash and Try and get Very Quick Runs

Why do they even Bother with Hot Spot when it makes no Difference in the Decision?

Warner's 50 came from just 23 balls.

He beat Bruce Yardley's 29-ball half-century against the West Indies in March 1978 and was only two balls away from Misbah-ul-Haq’s 21-ball mark which he made against Australia in Abu Dhabi in October 2014.

Not sure what you mean, Dave.

If a batsman review's after being given out, lbw, on the field, and hot spot reveals the ball hit his bat, then the decision is reversed.

Also, if given not out and the fielding team reviews, and hot spot shows the ball hit the bat, again, decision reversed.

From what I saw, there was no conclusive evidence that he didn't hit the ball and, if anything, the subsequent angles Channel 9 has shown make it quite clear that the Umpire's decision was correct. Hot Spot is probably more relevant where a batsman is given not out on a catch appeal (or out on an lbw appeal) but hot spot positively identifies a nick from the bat.

Edit: I see that Donny and I are in heated agreement about this.
