I really like this kid, can play back, forward and pinch hit in the ruck. Was tipped to go top 20, so think we've done really well.
Great hands, disposal seems pretty good as well, what's not to like?

Well I can only imagine Hine must see something special in him given we overlooked the more hyped Brennan Cox.
I hope he's correct.

Highight reel looks good. Nice soft hands and good kicking style. Watched the Cox reel and while he is a great mark, his kicking looks terrible. I like the look of what we got here.

Loved the marking on his highlight reel. I hoped our first choice would be a tall defender. In a perfect world he wouldn't play much firsts football until Dunn retires, but given Reid's potential for injury and the fact that Keeffe hasn't played for two years we might be seeing Sam sometime next year.

If he is 197cm, can take a grab and can kick with both feet, then this is a great pick.
Very interesting that Brennan Cox and Josh Battle, two players who were expected to go around pick 25-30, slipped way passed this pick.

I didn't think his highlight reel was too flash in the disposal area. Most of his kicks looked like they went straight to the opposition or put a teammate under pressure.
The highlights were from 2015 though; so hopefully the one game he was able to play in 2016 has improved him.  |
