I'm currently paying these idiots at Telstra $120.00 per month for broadband and landline [no Foxtel currently], so it certainly warrants investigating...

I'd be very surprised if true..The cheapest I've been offered that deal is $225.. includes every channel..

I've asked this question a few years ago or so with respect to AFL .

Given less FTA next year will this influence you?

Have things changed for you?

If so how?

If not why?

Will they change for you with respect to watching TV?

Just seeing if any changes or new ideas

I don't have it, I was thinking about it but still not sold on the idea. As for my priorities it's too expensive to justify given the limited choices etc.

My TV despite being a number of years old is a ripper. It's a Pioneer 50" commercial panel ( one of the last one's made in Japan) The HD is amazing viewing, especially streamed TV.

Anyways waddya think?

I've had it since 1995 as Sky TV in London and since 98 in Melbourne as Foxtel..They could put the price up 50℅ and I would keep it..I'm going to add broadband (unlimited) with unlimited phone calls for another $95..Total cost will be $205-220..I can't speak highly enough, I would keep a framed photo of Rupert M on the TV if I was allowed..

No, a pint of beer fir $12 is a rip off..... Idiots who pay $1 for a ciggy are getting ripped off..... 2 hot hookers for $500/hr is a rip off.

A hundred odd channels, including all the sport and movies you could ever watch for a couple of bucks a day, is an absolute bargain.

2 hot hookers sure beats 2 cold hookers.
Even at 500 dollars.
500 dollars gets you nearly a years foxtel.
2 hot hookers gets you about 10 minutes of glory.
Not a hard decision really.

record all the football you like on foxtel IQ
Always record our matches.
When playing interstate and no free to air I always had to go down to the local to watch the match.
You also get a host of international news channels that I like.
The weather channel ...great.
Old movie channels in TCM and Fox classics.
Love the old clint eastwood spaghetti westerns.
50 bucks a month is about half of the cost a crap pub meal with the missus and kids.
Worth it.h

What package do you have that you get sport for $50 all up?

I picked up a deal years ago including home telephone and cable broadband and have every Foxtel channel as well as free access to Presto. I could not live without access to the AFL on Foxtel during the season. Free to air is very limited these days.

just the basic package at 25 dollars plus the sports pack for another 25 dollars.
Everyone must have the basic pack and from there you add up the other packs
I only like watching old movies so I get that with the basic package.
I am not a big fan of any reality tv or serials or soap operas etc...
so the package I have is good for me.
The only thing I wished I had was the history channel.

Refuse to deal with these unprincipled thieves.

Charged me a $5 account maintenance fee for 4 years whilst I was o/s and refused to apply a credit upon my return when I was looking to renew with broadband etc.

Had their sales team on our side but the accounts team shafted us.

They can behave as they like as they are a monopoly with limited oversight.
At least there is a telecommunications ombudsman.

I can generally watch their footy productions delayed and not have to deal with them, which helps me sleep at night.

WE had it some years ago, I just found it repeated the same movies over and over again, ad nauseum, and most of the docos are now on SBS and YouTube anyway, if I could get just one AFL channel, soley AFL with no adds ons, I might consider it again. Confused

I pay just short of $400 per month.

That's for:
2 foxtel boxes (1 IQ3 and 1 IQ2) platinum pack all channels.
Cable Broadband
Home landline
2 mobile phones including 1 handset repayment

that would not include the sports pack.
I pay 70 dollars a month for unlimited broadband and all phone calls including fixed line, std and mobile calls from the fixed phone with TPG.
Plus 50 dollars for foxtel.
That makes 120 dollars per month.
with your deal it will be 111 dollars plus 25 dollars sports pack for a grand total of 136 dollars.
One thing is clear ... Telstra are the dearest at everything.
I have vowed never to uss Telstra again.

Yes they are the dearest but their software is full of bugs. With the help of a couple of mates we uncovered a beauty that gives us access to most Foxtel channels for next to nothing. While they hold the footy streaming rights they are my best mates.

I originally got Foxtel about 15 years ago based purely on the AFL channel. I ditched it earlier this year though. I just found that aside from the footy the rest of it was mostly junk. I was paying about $130 a month for 2 boxes.

So now I pay $99 a year for the AFL pass where I can still watch all games live. And what's not covered by my $13 a month Netflix and $6 a month Hayu subscriptions I just download anyway.

I do not miss Foxtel at all.
