More than enough talls. Too many for mine, though I guess we need to plan for some being useless. It's good that 2-3 of them are on the Rookie list rather than clogging up our main list. |
Agree too many, but saying that Goldy and Dunn are not too many years away (2 at most) from being finished, so injuries permitting this will give the youngsters time to develop. |

7 Collingwood - Brett Eddy
Pies need some depth forward. If Moore goes down and he has been bit injury prone they need someone to be a target. Had a ripping year and to good not to have a crack. At 27 its his last chance but he is fit, running well and clunks contested ball.
25 Collingwood - Reece Piper
Aggressive small defender who runs hard and straight. Think Marley Williams and but better. His smart, quick and a really good kick. I have been a fan all year and was really impressed with his games at the Champs. There were things he was doing with his attack and decision making. Will probably play back but has some tools that could enable him to push up the ground.
41 Collingwood - Will Minson
Think the Pies hand him a lifeline. Love to see it be Jordan Kelly.

Too slow and a shit kick. Sadly the modern game doesn't suit his ilk.....despite his apparent ability to get the ball. |

Blair is actually a fabulous kick and an especially accurate one when kicking for goal. He's certainly got his limitations, but his kicking isn't one of them. |

40 metres is his limit, hence I would say that is a limitation. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

I'd suggest it's more like 45 metres, but point taken. |

That's true except for the tiny detail he's kicked goals from 50 before including from near he boundary line ... how did that Midnight Oil song go? short memory my friends....
Anyway back on topic, this is a rookie draft thread.
I would have liked to have picked up Brett Eddy, the kid has talent. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Lol! Lee was very talented with dodgy knee ligaments. We were warned.
Tristan was just King Dunderklumpen. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

You forgot John - the half-back flanker from Dandenong who arrived at Collingwood in the early 70s. I'm fairly sure he played a game, once. |

Unbelievable. And here I was hoping to get him early in the ND. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

The Sack, Howe, Langdon, and Shaz are all much better suited to the 3rd tall roll forward or back. The others all have KPF potential as well. With the flexibility in the group I think it's a good mix and happy to have a group of guys developing in the VFL. |

Yep, a fair few big boys on the list now. Added to the mids and smalls, it is, in my humble opinion, a pretty good spread, and provides three things that we have missed recently- depth, variation and flexibility.. They are also at very different stage of their careers and development which augers well for the next few years. Quite happy with the way the draft period has ended but so is every club at this time of year. We have reason to be optimistic. _________________ No one needs to get hurt, it's only business. |

I'm actually pleased the way we have drafted and traded during the last month.
I think we took th experience we needed in the trade period to cover a couple of gaps.
We then drafted the best players that suited our needs with each pick
The rookie draft added some talls with upsides and a real hard edged HBF type.
The really pleasing thing is we haven't decided 2017 is do or die and still looked forward enough with our selections but added much need experience around the ground that we lost
There's loads of versatility among this group so fingers crossed we can have at least 17/18 of our best 22 on the paddock each week playing consistently |

Did any other club pick him WPT?
If not, he'd be a fabulous get to play Collingwood VFL once again. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |
