And now a medium defender. Liam Mackie from Glenelg, cousin of Geelong's Andrew mackie, 186cm defender with good skills

and finally a midfielder, JOSH DELUCA-CARDILLO from Peel Thunder.

Edit, AFL site is mucking up. Josh is no longer a Pie and the site says we passed on our plast selection, but the club twitter account says we took Max Lynch from Murray U 18s

3 talls and a running defender. I'll take that.

Balances it all out very nicely doesn't it. Also means we didn't get stuck with Minson.

I am plenty satisfied with that outcome. I know there will be complaints about no backup ruckman (Minson etc) but it is an interesting group to add to the 4 from last Friday. Our tall stocks are suddenly looking a lot better. Hopefully will be quite a ride watching them develop.

And didn't Jonty fall... from top 25 national draft all the way to not being selected at all, even as a rookie...

Looks like Gotch has got a fair bit to work with.

Gotch's ruck experience will prove invaluable Wink

Too slow and a shit kick. Sadly the modern game doesn't suit his ilk.....despite his apparent ability to get the ball.

I think it makes sense to use rookie picks on speculative rucks. History shows they may take 5 yrs to become good enough to play AFL, or they may prove to be not good enough. Let's hope one of these boys goes on to have a good career with us.
