Post subject: So are we still to cull more players like other clubs have ? | |

So did Blair get a contract? |

As far as I know, no.
There has been talk he will be offered one, and will sign a new one. So I didn't include him because most of the "experts" reported he would remain at the club.
So he might get the ass if they sign someone to replace him. _________________ Ðavâgé

I'm not a huge Blair fan but definitely not a Blair basher like others, however I'd prefer we take a chance on a Henderson, Silvagni or dare I say it even Minson for a year. |

I believe Gault has already been cut from the list It's just a matter of making the official announcement, which for some reason, hasn't been made yet.
I don't know what's holding back the discussions on the Blair contract. Assume he signs on for another year.
Goldsack has been signed on for another year. Sier has another year.
Thats it. There isn't anyone else to cull from the list. |

I am in the same camp, I am neither a fan or a basher, I just made an assumption on the contract as many sources suggested he was going to re-sign.
I'd take Henderson, or Silvagni I am leaning more towards Hendo really. _________________ Ðavâgé

There have been rumours suggesting we will pick up Silvagni as a delisted free-agent. This would seem to make sense given the backline experience and positional play that has exited. I would be quite happy for this to occur, but would find it unbelievably difficult cheering on a Silvagni...
I can't think of any further culling - there have been enough outs already - with only Gault to still be announced.
I would think a mature age ruckman (or someone like Claremont's Jeremy Goddard) to be picked up either late in the National draft, or via the rookie draft to cover ruck stocks. |

Although, I believe Lachlan Howe performed well in the 2nd half of the year? |

A Silvagni playing well against Carlton would be wonderful |

I would guess that the club doesn't want to delist Gault until it is sure it can get a better ruckman to put on the rookie list. _________________ Born and raised in Black and White |

Gault is a relief ruck at best... Blair would be a better ruckman!! _________________ Go Pies...Premiers 2010 |

gault is a second/third tall and relief ruck. He's probably also the only one capable of taking the first ruck if Grundy goes down now that Witts is gone.
nb, by "capable" I don't mean a good option, white, keeffe and cox are purely second rucks and we don't want Moore in the ruck. That leaves Gault unless we get another ruckman for backup. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

There was a 10 October article in the WA press that he had signed at South Fremantle. Someone posted it and I read the link at the time - it was quite definite. |
