Might even be the next step in Tapping taking over at Collingwood if we are unsuccessful in 2017.

Some talk that he's very highly rated. Montgomery from the Doggies looking for work in 2017 as well I think. There are options.

Skimping on the footy dept again, no doubt. Can somebody please tell me what use is being the biggest club in the land if you can't (won't) spend big on the football dept?

If I didn't know better I would say Ed and Pert are setting up Bucks to fail.

Good luck to Tapping in another step up in his Career. Getting closer to the top job and the way Brisbane go through coaches, his senior gig could be real soon. I read nothing into his departure other than he wants to be an AFL coach and that won't happen for him at Collingwood. Just ask Gavin Brown and Alan Richardson both who wanted to but knew it would not happen.

Gavin Brown doesn't want to be a senior coach.
Taps is a massive loss, the boys will be spewing. Hopefully we get him back one day

What a massive over reaction by posters! hows this a massive loss? he was VFL coach who got thumped by 100 pts in his last game??? if we only knew that promoting Tipping to Bucks coaching team was all it would take to go to the GF!!!

Must you bag everyone who has an opinion different to yours?

If you have another view then by all means share it without feeling the need to dump.

1. As I understand it Tapping coached the Pies in the VFL to a grand final
2. Plenty of people including players felt a connection with him as a coach.
3. No one is saying it is the end of the world but simply acknowledge Tapping's contribution to the club - no more & no less.
4. Your interpretation that it is a massive over-reaction seems opportunistic & well a massive over-reaction.

Almost of all us have acknowledged Tappings role ( and a few posters here have an active connection with the VFL team) & wish him well into the future.

A very good point.
With restrictions on players and footy dept. what is there left for the money?
Spend it on women's sport.
Spend it on gourmet dinners for the board
Spend it on a social club which is losing money.
etc.. etc..
At least with going over budget on the footy dept. you just pay an extra tax.

Very sorry to see him go. He worked hard and generally got great results, given some of the available material.

Congratulations to Dale on his new role. He was obviously doing a great job, being VFL coach of the year, but from my knowledge he is yet to coach in the AFL at any level. Thus, it appears he has been given the opportunity to be an assistant coach at Brisbane and has taken it to further his coaching ambitions. I wish him all the best.

However, this is not a big deal. We will find another VFL coach either from within or externally and I am sure that this coach will work with the senior coaching panel to train the two's players in the manner required to have them ready if and when they required for the ones.

Why has everything to do with this football club always got to be linked back to some underlying sinister narrative?

Footy Department spending for coaches is capped now, so it's not just like we could chuck him a token assistant job to keep him around and obviously we felt there were others we wanted in our AFL coaching team. So if he couldn't get one here of course he's gonna look elsewhere, he can't remain a VFL coach forever if he has aspirations of one day moving into an AFL top job. It's not an indictment on the club, it's simply how football, and business for that matter, works.

Agree, everything that happens is always linked back to Buckley. There is a board, there is a president, there is a CEO, there is a General Manager of Football, there are other members of the coaching panel and there is a list manager, to just name a few positions at the Club. Buckley is not responsible for everything, nor is he the reason for everything and the sooner people on this forum realise this, the sooner the intelligence level of the postings on this forum will improve ten fold.

It has been reported that Tapping played football with David Noble, the Brisbane Lions new head of football, in the 1990's, so I suggest this is why he took the job.

Word is that Buckley wanted Sinclair selected in the Prelim Final side and Tapping told Bucks he wouldn't play Sinclair in any of his sides, as long as his ass pointed south.

Bucks has pointed it north and kicked him out.

Yes mooretreloar i have evidence, did you ever see Sinclair in a Tapping coached side?

Rubbish - Sinclair played 13 AFL games in 2016, therefore ineligible to play VFL finals.
