^^^ Didak 4 goals, Medhurst another 4, Davis 3, Swan 31 disposals and 3 goals, Heater 36 disposals (27 kicks), H with the 3 Brownlow votes and Wellingham murdering them at the centre clearances. All those guys should still be able to make important contributions next season, you'd think.

We should be able to beat them, even if they're ready to go. They're not that good. They happened to come right at the end of a season in which the dominant team finally fell in a hole and there wasnt much separating the top 10 teams.

Not that good - hmmm... WCE in Subi, then the Hawks, then GWS in Sydney, then the Swans. The four best teams in the comp, two at home, without droppng a game. I wish we were not that good.

Even at 50/50 in each game, that's a 16/1 chance. If you can't be good, be lucky.

It'd be good to be lucky like them, certainly.

Don't get me wrong, the Dogs deserved to win the flag, but they were lucky.

If Stevie J plays in the prelim the Giants are 5 goals up (at least) half way through the final term, and I doubt the Dogs come back from that.

And then on GF day, if there's one player that worried the Dogs, it was Buddy, and 10 minutes in he severely rolls his ankle, and isn't the same for the rest of the game.

You need luck to win flags, and the Dogs had a shit load, don't worry about that.

So yes, they are beatable in round 1 next year, but we are talking about a team that should finish top 6 against a side that will struggle to play finals for a fourth season in a row.

Dogs $1.30
Pies $3.60

That would be my market.

Cloke likely won't play, lucky to be in their top 22 if Crameri is back.

This will be an interesting opportunity to see whether Footscray can play a competent style of game suited to the MCG against opposition that plays there regularly. This should be a win for Collingwood. Pies by 83 points.

You know they just beat Sydney on the G to win the flag right?

The pressure will be all on the doggies, they will be hot faves too win, reigning Premiers etc, we have nothing too lose really, nobody will tip us. So, bring it on, lets give em a warm welcome they wont ever forget . !

Doggies had a lot of luck, to win that flag, Hawk smith missing that goal, stevie j suspended for GWS -Giants would have won that had he played- and the most biased umpiring I have ever seen in a GF, at one stage late in the game at 17-4, dogs way. They did well, but luck ran their way right thru the Finals, they wont get a dream run of luck like that again, next season. Cool

Got lucky against us first time around in 2016 when we played over a quarter with no one on the bench. Then second time Sidey robbed of a mark and shot at goal in the dying seconds.

Where do the dogs finish if they dropped those two games?

We have had no such luck for yonks. Such a streak.

Smith kicks that goal, it might well have been Fourthorn. Phew, give the Dogs one instead of that I guess.
