I cite Franklin and Clarke as two.
"Personal reasons" can mean a lot of things. I have no idea what it means in relation to Gibbs, or in relation to Marsh, which is why I asked the question above. I thought I may have missed a report in relation to Marsh, but it appears that I didn't. |
I have heard that the Welfare People Drove Marsh out of the Club _________________ I am Da Man |

80,000 members and a senior player wants to go home, trade period's over and .......

Fact is, we haven't heard any news because the news aint good, if there was good news they would've sprained their fingers typing it.
I rate Marsh more than most around here, he isn't some fringe player IMO. _________________ Defender...........

Well none of us have a clue whats going on here.
Homesickness, mental sickness, the stress and demands of AFL life, it could be anything. Maybe his Mrs dumped him and he's having trouble dealing with it? Gees it could even be he doesn't like playing under Bucks.
Anyway, whatever the issue, I hope the lads get around him and we see him back at it when the Pies run out on the field in Feb.
(Got a few W.A. boys in the coaching box, so hopefully that helps). _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Things can turn quickly. Let's hope Marshy is back sooner rather than later cos I rate the boy highly. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

I respect your opinion - but being a member does not give us the right / need to know what is happening in Marsh's life. I re-state that we need to trust the club to do the right thing by Marsh and what ever needs to be done from a playing list perspective. I too think Marsh could be a very good player medium to long term, but whether that is at Collingwood this year or next or not at all, then us knowing what the issue is will not make a difference, unless of course we want to send messages of personal support to him to show we care for his situation if that is applicable. Let's just let the dust settle and see what the lay of the land looks like. _________________ Toby for President |

Hope everything works out for him – just on a human being level, but also because he's an excellent player and very much required. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Good God, we agree!
I think this kid could be a gun, he has skill to burn & is tough as nails. Exactly the type we need (apart from a big defender or 2).
I also agree that it wwouldn’thurt the club to give the members a bit of news, especially when what we get now is nothing but disinformation & pure horseshit!
We don't need to know the details, we don't need to know if he's been diagnosed or what he's been diagnosed with (although our insistence on pretending mental illness doesn't exist only perpetuates the stigma & ignorance)
We want to know how he's doing in general, and any details on his future playing status (is he staying, working on it etc). Our concern is based on empathy for a Magpie we hold in high regard. _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

I hope the club can support him through his personal issues and reassure him that a chance to break into the team is still very wide open if he wants it.
He's a player with a lot of upside and one I don't want us to get rid of without trying to help and assist him first.
If he's still adamant that he wants to be in Western Australia in 12 months time then it's best that we move on as a club but I'd like to think the club will do everything it can to help him on a personal level first, and second of all try and persuade him to get back into the team if he wants it desperately enough. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |
