Because there aren't any. If Marsh requests a release from his contract we could delist him, then he could nominate for the preseason draft and be picked up by either Freo or WC.

Alternatively he could play next year in the WAFL and hopefully catch the eyes of Freo and WC officials and be picked up in next year's draft. Better still he resolves his family and personal issues and returns to Melbourne and plays out his contract.

The AFL needs to bring a compassion rule. Maybe you can upgrade a Rookie for the time the player is out. You maybe able to now, I don't know.

By officially reported, I mean in a media outlet in the traditional sense, rather than a forum such as this.

"Personal reasons" can mean a lot of things. I have no idea what it means in relation to Gibbs, or in relation to Marsh, which is why I asked the question above. I thought I may have missed a report in relation to Marsh, but it appears that I didn't.

Sorry - can't agree that the club needs to update us on anything on this subject. This is none of our business - not for public discussion. The club has told us Marsh has asked to return to WA and has stated that is all there will be on the matter - we should respect and accept that and trust the club to look after Marsh's welfare as a priority - the football department will take care of the rest as required.
