It was E+ actually.

Coming from the guy who was a part of the club who drafted Richard Tambling before Buddy in 2004 Laughing

Didn't he upgrade it after the WHE trade went through?

Maybe he did, but I didn't hear him say that.

He graded us E+ before most of our trades were completed.

Interesting on face value I thought we got unders on Willaims and Cloke and paid overs on Dunn. But when you calculate what we got for Witts and Frost it balances out.

We have lost players who at there current levels of performance wouldn't be certain best 22 starters so no damage done that way.
We brought in Wells who's a elite kick and can run age and experience we needed, Mayne a better than average kick but elite tackle pressure in the forward 50, WHE at his best will be a gun (fingers crossed here) can run leap and is a very good kick at goal, Dunn is a booming boot and also a good kick so that's a huge plus from our previous backline players.

As I see it we've done good providing they all play to there potential.

I think we have shown our hand in regards to game style to be played in 2017.
Run carry take the game on at all times fast movement tackle pressure
All players we brought in are better than average kicks which we needed and 2 have real speed and 1 with decent speed so we've improved our speed and kicking markedly.
If WHE can get back to his best (his young enough) then Moore White WHE Elliott will take some stopping up forward if the ball comes in quick and accurately.

Overall I give us a 7.5/10 bordering on a 8.5/10 if WHE fires

I think some people are misunderstanding the Dunn trade, we moved down 3 (or 4) spots to bring him in it, we basically got him for free

I thought the ins are okay.

Wells (very good) Mayne (reasonable but contract too long) WHE (No Idea how he will pan out) Dunn (Whatever)

But I think we got dudded on the trades coming back for Witts, Cloke & Marley. Needed to at least improve our position in the draft or get good F/S points. Cloke & Marley & netted us neither. Frost still may but I doubt it.

We waited 2 weeks for that?

We did quite Well with what Happened Last year with Aish and Treloar. We did not have a Ton to play with.

Wells could be good for a Year or 2.

Mayne I think can help fix our Forward Pressure

WHE can be Anything. He could be a Superstar IF we can get him Fit. Feels a Need on the List. Player With Pace and X-Factor

Dunn is pretty much come in to help give the Backline Depth after Losing Brown,Frost and Williams.

I am bit sad we gave Williams and Cloke away.

I think 8/10, we got the players and points we wanted, traded the players that wanted out and got rid of the spuds we don't need, all in all a good trade period.

I'm happy with the outs - all had poor disposal or declining rapidly. I would go as far as to say they cost us games this year.

Would have liked a little bit more for Witts but other than that the others would/should have been delisted anyway.

Out of the ins, Wells worries me the most. Hopefully we can get 40-50 games out of him over three years.

Excited about WHE and the prospect of Brown & Daicos and may still have shot at some good kids at 28 & 44.

Overall we did OK - C +

Look all of the dud kicks were sharply identified by Gubby as utter hindrances and moved on in one hit. for all of the Marley lovers it's interesting to note what the "free market" felt about him... 105... ouch.

Looking at young talent we have brought in last year and this year we have done okay I think:

2015
Treloar (former priority pick)
Aish (former first rounder)
Sier (? on him right now)
Phillips
Wills
Crocker

2016
Hoskin Elliott (former pick #4)
Pick 28 - should get a quality midfielder
Pick 44
Pick 51
Pick 62
Pick 65

Picks 44-65 should secure Brown and Daicos with the possibility of another draftee at 44 depending on when they get bid upon.

We go to the 2017 draft without a 2nd, but with a (hopefully!) upgraded 3rd.

Don't forget 105!

We have done well. Without Marley and Brown there will be less helicopter, shank, hospital balls coming out of the back half.

Dare I say we will not see anybody miss from the goal square again....

Reckon we might snag Rockcliff next year via free agency.

I agree with most, nothing to set the world on fire but the only player gone who might have been a best 22 is Brown. It comes down to Dunne v Brown: which one is better. I haven't seen enough of him to form a valid view, but from what everyone is saying he's a better kick.

As far as I can tell we achieved what we set out to do.

Hopefully Jonno Marsh can get his sh*t together and be back in Melbourne to do a pre-season. Just give him as much time as he needs to work things out.

Half the job is done, now up to Dekka to find some gems in the draft.
