Dare I say an upgrade on Nathan Brown????

He is, but not a very big upgrade.

As, I posted above there appears to be better options out there, but I am thinking we have gone for the best of the cheapest options to provide backup (that is all he is) to leave enough room for someone like WHE.

This is very unsettling.

Proves that the club didn't plan on Nathan Brown leaving.

I would prefer they threw more money at Frost.

I think I rather Dunn over Frost. Dunn can actually Kick.

Club had a Deal in front of Brown for I hear about 3 Months

Disagree, it was reported in The Age last week that we had pulled our offer to Brown. Bucks also mentioned that he would be leaving at the Copeland. We also chose not to match a very low FA offer from St Kilda. Thus, I think we were very well aware that he was leaving.

According to the Age, there was a 2 year offer made to Brown 3 months ago, which he didn't accept. They then said when he went back to the club a couple of months later, the offer was reduced and then was finally taken off the table. I am not sure how accurate this is, but this is what was reported.

I suppose the proposal of a lesser role in the side next season was enough for Brown to move, I would think that Dun would have the same thing but may see more game time if Frost and Williams go.

Did they say why he rejected it?

Very interesting that it was then reduced and taken off the table.

They didn't, but if is true then like other free agents (Mayne, Wells etc) that hadn't committed towards the end of the year, the club must have had an inkling he may not sign. I would have thought it would have been less money than he was previously on and also as you said after playing VFL in 2016, that he may have realised that he would have a reduced role in the AFL team.
Knowing this they still chose not offer Frost a contract, which his manager mentioned on Trade Radio, saying Collingwood were good at keeping Frost updated, but hadn't offered him a contract, so he took the concrete offer from Brisbane.

Dunn for a late pick (potentially no points), who cares?

He's just backup, chances are Goldsack, Scharenberg & even Langdon would have a go at full back before Dunn is given an opportunity.

I've jinxed it now! Rolling Eyes

He's better than Frost, so in that respect I don't mind it. Would've preferred to have just held on to Nathan Brown though, Browny was an amazing clubman so it's sad to see him go.

We really need to start hunting for a young KPD though, our stocks have never been this low. Lot of faith being placed in Reid's ability to stay on the park at the moment.

I had expected Frost to be gone, seemed to be the main one, was a bit surprised on Brown but hearing a bit about possible reduced role and all that I assume once Gubby Allen did his thing he thought that they were expendable and now we are looking at Dunn to do the same.

As long as we don't lose anything special for Dunn or Silvagni if we get both of them not too worried. I think its just to be the backups for the players we have that have been out injured.

I can understand Brown not wanting to start to wind down his career, so no issue with him going.
