Peter Siddle has played one Matador match and pulled up well after 8 overs and 1/19.

He has 2 more one dayers and the opening Shield match which should, barring injury, leave him in line for that 3rd. spot in the attack.

Otherwise, I favour Jackson Bird.

Is Pat Cummins a dark horse or just not ready yet ?

Took 4/26 in today's Matador Cup match. It was his second 4fa in the comp., so far.

Would love to see him, fit and firing, against the Prots.

Shaun Marsh has tweaked a hammy.

Probably a reprieve for Joe Burns.

I too would like to see a fit Cummins play in tests, I hope this season we get to see it!

CA 11 were 7/39 but recovered to be all out for 103. Short was the only one to get past 6 - he made 57 from 61 balls.

Interesting, re. 1st. Test selection.

Jackson Bird is bowling well at the G, with 3/75 (30 overs) and 3 more chances. Peter Siddle yet to bowl.

To partner Warner ? Marsh is the incumbent and scored good runs yesterday. If his hammy is any risk, Joe Burns is right there - scored a century today. Burns could bat at first drop but Ussy Khawaja also scored well, today, with 79.

The preferred opening bowling pair - Starc and Hazlewood - are getting a good workout. Just 1 wicket but they've bowled 30 overs between them.
