Most changes from one test squad to another since 1984.

Looking forward to seeing what the debutants can produce.

Looks a bowler short.

Renshaw is named as on offie but hasn't bowled in his 11 first Class matches.

Smith's going to have to bowl.

As I predicted, another NSW batsmen gets a debut call-up at the expense of a form Victorian.

Is Peter Neville injured; surprised to see Wade back in there?

And so now they select Bird after the horse has bolted. Retards.

Wade is considered a better batsman. Nevill didn't do a lot wrong except being part of both Hobart collapses. He did, however, drop a vital chance and that just made him easier to drop.

Wade is also considered for his obvious leadership experience, having taken Victoria to consecutive Shields and has them on top of the ladder, undefeated, this season.

I can't see Bird getting a run, as Starc and Haz are guaranteed and Sayers will be on his home track, AND is the leading wicket taker, in this year's Sheffield Shield.

I though Maddinson was lucky to be picked. Something of a hit and miss batsman. Precisely, not what Smith asked for. Either Cam White or George Baily would've provided backbone at #6.

One of the best opening days of Test cricket (considering SA won the toss and batted) and not one member is interested enough to comment ?? Sad

I hope I don't jinx this but Khawaja and Smith are looking very comfortable out there! Would be nice and make an interesting test if the Aussies can get around the 350 - 400 mark!

Warner's a bit of a worry.

14 innings since his last Test century @ 28 average, with just 2 over 50.

100 partnership from Ussy and Smith.

Very well batted. Hung in early, when things could've gone pear shaped.

2/130. Khawaja 65*, Smith 37*
