Agreed. Enough pressure as it is.
Kirby FFS has been likened to Betts, Pickett with elements of Cyril Rioli.
Hope all the kids do well but talk about pressure _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Better they are just two kids on our list |
No matter what numbers they have they will never just be two kids on our list. Like the second generation Shaws before them, the pressure will be on right from the start. Hopefully they can use that as motivation and not as a weight they are carrying around. |

come to the club I also must be thankfull that two
other youngsters Sam and Kale also have arrived

I think the focus on Cal and Josh, whilst totally understandable will spur the other two on. Sam particularly has obviously overcome a lot to get to this point. He will be a gun I reckon. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

For pure sentimental reasons, I would have loved to see have seen the boys play in their father's old numbers.
However, the fact that they took it upon themselves to forge their own path, rather than live in the shadows of their respective fathers is very understandable.
All the best to them! _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Do you reckon someone could start a new thread about the new numbers?
We still have Dunn, Lynch, Hoskin-Elliott, Mackie, Mayne, McCarthy, Schade, Sier & Wells to get a number. So there's 12 new threads right there.
I might start a Welcome to number 17 thread myself. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

And it's not as if the numbers they've been given carry any pressures or anything...

Wonder when the rest will be made official?
Got to be some time soon you'd think.
I'm going to make a guess; Wells 3, WHE 15, Dunn 16, Mayne 32, Sier 34, Mackie 41, Schade 44, McCarthy 45, Lynch 47. (Keeping 36 cool for 12 months) _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |
