not sure why we wouldn't take him!

We're not asking him to be our captain, which is what he isn't good at.

We're asking him to collect 35 touches as a damaging midfielder - which is what he is a gun at.

I'd take him in a heartbeat.

mayne or rockliff. tough choice lol.

Rocky would kick twice as many goals and lay twice as many tackles and play twice as many games.
Absolute no-brainer if it can be done.

Mayne deal is not dependent on Rockliff at all.

Elite midfielder transfer from Brisbane to Pieland? We have history. We will have the ball more at the clearances. I'm tempted.

He's a knob...but he can play.
They don't want him.
Could do worse.

Rockliff and Green for Witts, Frost and Pick 27

The only reason you'd want him is for the charlie connection.
Not this off season please.

"Damian Barrett has taken to NAB AFL Trade Radio to report that Collingwood has made inquiries about Lions skipper Tom Rockliff.

According to Barrett, new Collingwood football manager Graeme Allan knows Rockliff from his days at the Lions and has made contact with Rockliff's management to at least understand the state of play."
From the AFL trade talk site a couple of moments ago.

I don't hate the idea. Can't have too many good mids. While he isn't Trealor, he'd be an up grade for the 22 on Greenwood, Caff, Blair, Philips, Smith, Aish, Thomas, Crisp, etc.

Question is....... trade cost?

Trade cost is the sticking point - looking at offloading a midfielder or two ourselves - we do have some depth.

Question who could we lose and who would want them.

I have little doubt we'll get Rockliff to Pieland TBH. They don't want him, no other clubs are into him cos he's not a great 'person' by all reports, and they want senior players. We've got a plethora of first football prospects. We can't fit them all into our best 22+.

Massive in if happens - he is as good as Swanny on the field and probably off it too!

The trick is to get players as good as Swanny was before his injury.

I think it more a case of the club doing its 'due diligence' than any real expectation of a swap. . . we know all about those 'untouchable midfileders' up north Rolling Eyes

They may want him gone but they have a track record of massively overstimating their players.

reminds me a bit of Priddis. He used to accumulate a heap but not do too much damage - until he did and then he became a significant player.
Getting the ball is an important attribute.

I wouldnt mind him however can see much more upside long term in Hoskin-elliot
