Laughing Laughing

He's got to be joking. One of the worst Liberal party leaders in my time.

Most politicians (Liberals in this case) are backstabbers willing to save their necks if it meant getting rid of Turnbull and restoring Abbott into leadership with a short-term spike in the polls. Labor did it with Rudd and Gillard so I wouldn't be shocked if something similar plays out within the Liberal camp.

Personally, I don't think it will happen. Unlike Rudd who was popular with the wider public, Abbott was never popular and embraced by the wider public.

I'm still adamant that the Coalition was elected because of Labor's incompetence during the Rudd-Gillard-Rudd years rather than because they presented a viable alternative to Labor.

Spot on Jezza.

The right wingers would be stupid to think they'll save their own nexks by bringing back Abbott the way Labor bought back Krudd. As you said, Krudd had popularity with the people and he saved some of their necks at the election, going to Abbott would spell a wipe out.

Turnbull, despite the Libs Nats being low on a 2 party preferred basis, is still ahead of Short Bill as preferred PM.

Whether it's Abbott or Bishop, though, it's hard to see Turnbull seeing out a full term. The past three governments have knifed sitting PMs who were in stronger positions at this point than he is now.

It will be the Asbestosis Whore. Bet money on it.

Edit. I'm sorry for calling her a whore. That was an insult to decent prostitutes who only sell their bodies, not their humanity or their honour.

Almost right. Gillard was very competent, but even she couldn't cope with Rudd's naked treachery, and the result was the Abbott disaster.

Gillard proved to be barely competent, despite the rhetoric to the contrary. The history books will rate her as one of our worst PM's ever. Behind Krudd (which she doesn't deserve) but ahead of Abbott (which she does deserve).
