Erm, did you not watch the VFL prelim final Jack?

I wasn't impressed with his body language in that match as he was simply going through the motions.

It was evident during that game that his time was up here.

I do love it when someone can look at something like that and derive all these theories. Me, I'm just a simple country type and to me it looked like over half the team were spent so I'll defer to your clearly greater interpretive capacity.

^ I wasn't the only one saying it on that day.

In saying that, I wish him all the best in his next stage of his career.

Had high hopes for Witts in the early days but alas he never really delivered.

Seems like people were happy with his VFL performances this season though I don't recall him being labelled in the bests all to often in the paper.

So who was right the scribes or the posters?

Either way I never bought into the hype that he was going to be our No.1 ruck option this season as some were debating as for me Grundy was clearly the better more rounded player while Cox developed his forward game enough to keep him out also.

Witts was clearly our second best ruck option still but Cox hopefully can improve this aspect of his game next year as he wont make it as a forward option only and really at 211cm he needs to become a dominant tap ruck man.

Unfortunately for us the departure of Witts has come at an awkward time because he may yet flourish from next year at age a lot of rucks do and this move will hurt us but as of now his trade value was minor.

Ideally he should have been traded last year as his worth might have been more that of a late second round pick.
