Congratulations to a Club that treats its fans with respect, chose a genuine coach ; and has a awesome President. Go Dogs! As for we at Collingwood no excuses now. We stuffed it. Today proves that corporate football Clubs will never succeed and only serve the interests of a few that want absolute control over them ! No place for loyal fans in these clubs. Let's head west for true football where fans are valued and respected above all else.

We have a president that has unleashed the Gubby beast. Hang on to your hat Grandpa because things are going to get mighty interesting over the next six months. One way or another, as Blondie sang.

Much as I'm not happy with the murky mud that came back with him, I must admit I'm pretty excited about just what might happen.

So it is go west young man now Hiss?
But remember Hiss keep going west and you end up
coming back from the East.
Vic Park is east of whitten oval.
So yeah ....so keep going way west to get to the real heart of collingwood.

No. Things are tough for the Lions, Dockers and Tigers.

We're one of the clubs on the rise.

All threads are directly about Collingwood. Open your eyes. Most times Collingwood is actually mentioned.

Not necessarily, sometimes Pies threads end up in the wasteland of Nicks VPT, where they are lost for all time. Razz

Yeah he's a great president did you see his interview with Open Mike. He says he runs the club his way hiring and firing as he sees fit oh and tosses in around $500k a year and has brought on several high profile business mates all tipping in around $100k each a year to keep the club afloat. He also alluded to the $12 million debt still saddled to the club and said they needed a lot more corporate support to stay afloat long term. He said he loved the bulldog faithful but he also said there's not enough of them to make the club viable financially.
So yeah if he decides now his job is done he's delivered the holy grail and walks away what happens to the approx $1.5 million he brings to the table each year. He never put a dime in when he wasn't president nor did his mates so they are still a club on the brink and yesterday's win won't fix that. Yeah they will get some financial short term bonanza from th GF win but it will only be short term and won't go anywhere near repaying the $12 million they owe.
So long term I will take Eddie and his corporate types any day keeping this club financial and viable any day. Yeah there is w disconnect with the old school fans in some ways. We don't have 50c schooners and meat pies any longer in a run down old social club but not all supporters thought that was the ducks nuts anyways.
The days of chook raffles and cheap schooners paying the bills are gone. Today sport across any code is a business heck even rugby union decided to go professional years ago.
