So happy for Liam. Did not see Billy singled out in the crowd today. Superstition? As happy also for Bevo. What a wonderful story all round😀 _________________ Spiral progress, unstoppable,

This is true. When he took that mark, I just thought what we all thought. That was Billy. He should be in B&W.
Why did he end up elsewhere? I've heard different variations.
*His parents didnt want him to play under the burden of the B&W jumper. So the F-S nomination was not taken.
*We simply didnt take him and another club did a season later.
What happened, did we F it up or did he or his folks want him to play somewhere else? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

As much as I've loved watching him this season (and I really really have), if we had picked him up father son, he would have been delisted 8 years ago .
Lets not reinvent history, just give credit to a bloke who never gave up, got the absolute best out of himself and played a bloody good game in a premiership team. |

He wears 42 because Millane was his favourite player. _________________ Jatsad - That is all |

We didn't pick Liam because at 18 (or even 21) he wasn't the brilliant footballer that his Dad was at the same age. Also he was quite a bit smaller than his Dad. What our recruiter (who was probably Judson at that time) didn't take into account was that he had the same attitude and work ethic as Billy. I have never forgotten that in all those Grand Finals we lost between 1977 and 1981 Billy was always amongst our best players. In the debacle of 1980 he was possibly the only player to contribute in all four quarters. Liam showed the same sort of endeavour yesterday afternoon. We should have drafted him when he first came up as F/S choice _________________ Born and raised in Black and White |

I'm surprised that we didn't draft him because he embodies the three attributes most common in our current playing list
a) can't kick
b) lacks pace
c) has a great work ethic |

I'm sure I heard "look out, here comes Billy" when Liam Picken launched himself and took that Billyesque screamer in the last quarter. It was a great moment. |
