If rather an old school 'hog' mentality from a genuine forward rather than this 'pass to another player when within 30m out' crap today's 'share and care' players dish up.

If Harvey can teach our brainless players how to actually be front and centre then his contract is worth every cent.

If Harvey does play for us next season , Collingwood would at the least have the AFL most games played record again after EJ Whitten broke Nuts Coventrys 306 games record

Seeing as we lost most goal kicked to Lockett and Sydney

And most games coached to Malthouse and Carlton

There is not a lot of data on how 39yo players perform after changing clubs.
Known known - gimme a break.

What I know is Harvey was not playing well at season's end.
What I know is he put his club into a difficult position on the eve of the finals, his manager admits this.
What I know is Harvey has hardly been the greatest team player over his career, no wonder Buck's thinks he will get along with him and make a great assistant coach.

39?

FMD! Really? Not sure if I should laugh or cry! I liked the idea, not sure now! But that really makes no sense since I'm fitter than most 30 year olds I know! At least he has a crack!

Didn't have a great end to the season?? He averaged 25 possessions and 1.4 goals per game in his last 8 matches. 😳

If he's going to stunt the development of Crocker, Phillips and even De Goey, then it's not a great move. If he's going to provide short term protection for the first two and be backup for Faz and Elliott being injured, then maybe it's a good move.

I'd def have him before Blair, and he'd prob be on the same money...

Again, Im going with this for the round 1 celebration jumper:

north-bh400-2015.jpg

Because 1 game for Collingwood means so much more than over 400 for North.

I'm with the Bat & Cam on this.
I see a upside
Age beside he kicked 30+ goals last year again
He has the one thing a lot of our players lack and that's experience something many on here bemoaned when we let games against the Hawks and Dogs slip during the second half of the season
Also he is still fit and hasnt had injuries and has been consistent in performance for years
He can provide coaching on the field to what will be a young side and I think that will help Pendles as well.
We are very young in fact I would say to young to be a serious finals chance. Look at the Hawks Swans Dogs Crows GWS Geelong North West Coast what do they all have in common ? They have older players who add something to there sides oh and they all played finals this season.
We are sadly lacking experience and adding a Harvey and Wells does this and also gives our running game another bow and a real small crumbing forward who can live off the scraps created by Moore White & co
Another thing we don't actually know if Elliott will come back anywhere near what hie was and Crocker is still learning. A year of 2 of development in the VFL won't hurt Brown and Daicos and I'm sure having someone like Harvey around the club teaching our young players about preparation and intensity won't hurt one iota
Mayne I'm not sold on yet other than his age is more inline with our current group. Personally I would go for WHE over Mayne if we add Harvey.

If part of his role is coaching/development then I am all for a 1 year deal. Mind you, until I see him run out on the field for us I will take it as gossip. Razz

strangely enough, me too. bringing in he and mayne ups the ante for the other blokes in our forward line plus we get an onfield coach in harvey.
