| Post subject: Eddie wants to ban Giants from next two drafts. ! |  |

According to the Age, our eddie wants to ban the Frankenstein monster of football, the Giants, so as too even up the comp and give battling teams more of a chance. He has backing from dogs honcho Peter Gordon on this issue. The thing is the giants have their academy, and fantastic picks in the upcoming draft, too add to their side, already stacked with super young talent. Yet again, they have early picks in the draft, the cream, too add to an awesome list of elite players. I tend to back eddie on this, the League has created a footy monster indeed, that already came within an ace of a GF berth, and flag this season, let alone the next four seasons at least.

I cannot see the giants being too fussed, they already have the entire League Board and goggle eyes Gil heavily on their side, giving them the earth, and that wont change.

if your going to ban clubs for sucess Ed, why didnt you ask for Hawthorn to be banned two years ago. Giants have not won anything yet....We have greater worries Ed...lets just please focus on our problems.

| They did screw us badly over Treloar.And their President,or whoever it was the A.F.L appointed to run the club for them,did his level best to steer Treloar to Richmond.So Eddie does have a long memory,and he doesn't forgive. |

No, I think it makes sense. They were given huge advantages to get on their feet. Well, they're on their feet now and have as much young talent as any team ever. It's only fair that some of that compensation is wound back.
Don't see it happening though.

Despite the sleek veneer of media and financial success Eddie still remembers what the real imperitives are.
The fix is in and it's getting more blatantly obvious every year.
It started with the bears, gold coast and gws are further progressions on the same theme.
The doggies are an outlier and have my deepest gratitude for screwing with the heads of the AFL.
If we get to 20 teams it's quite possible that the rest of the competition will be faced with a sliding score value scale or some such bullshit to ensure that their latest lovechild will have a clear run.
In my very humble opinion our sport is dying as a sport and becoming a mere 'entertainment'. |
