Given all the talent accumulated by GWS, I think they are in for a period of serious dominance and could give our record a shake.

Do you agree, yes or no?

PS> I also wanted to get in first so I can say I told you so Razz

The AFL wants them successful to win over western Shitney.

They have talent to burn and if they have smart list management will be able to trade out players each year to fill needs, either mature role players or high draft picks, and stay up for the next 6+ years.

They learned the lessons of the other start up clubs and are the new prototype for how to set up a club from scratch.

Can we just wait until the Prelim finals are dusted before we collectively drop to our knees and hail the new king?
Can't we all just hold hands and dance on Whorethorn's grave for another week at least? I'm currently doing the Charleston!

Given the metaphorical steroids provided to them by the AFl in the form of privileged draft concessions, it's very possible. Success = talent + resources + time. They have been given all three in abundance. There is a fourth factor called luck, but if you have enough of the first three, you do not even need that. They will probably be unbeatable for the next few years, I think. It's putrid, but it is what it is.

Yep, I want them to keep winning them one after the other for 4+yrs.
Only then will people wake up from their slumber to realise the AFL is a rigged competition taking fans for a ride.

They have 23 first round draft picks in their squad, don't they? With opportunities like that you'd expect them to be pretty good.

It's a double advantage. They received quality picks and denied them to other developing teams who would be their challengers in coming years. You can never predict 4 in a row because it's basically impossible to do, but they are best placed to do it. Suns also, but they need to get back on track first, their tall forwards are even better.

Yes, for heavens sake, the dogs might beat em yet, next week, and we just now got rid of the piss and poo threat, please, for the love of God, let us have some rest in peace, knowing our record is safe. Confused Shocked

This poll question is irrelevant until GWS wins three in a row.

They have all the ingredients of a dynasty, but as Mugwump rightfully pointed out, luck is also something they will need to have to achieve the unthinkable.

I think people have realised this for many years.

I suspect many remain actively interested in the game due to the club only, otherwise they wouldn't care or be that emotionally and financially invested in the game to begin with.
