Just 5 years late. Wink

Sanderson was supposed to be Bucks assistant in his first year as coach back in 2012 after all.

Welcome Sando. Very Happy

Pies wisely employing ex-Senior Coach backup to cover all eventualities regarding Bucks in 2018. Welcome Sando ...

This is correct weight indeed but the senior coaching job was far too good for him to refuse at that time.

Not sure but was not Harvey mid coach prior to
the arrival of Sando ????
If as stated Burnsie mid/stoppage coach IMO he fits not only the job but the DNA of our club that NB on
Monday said was ours

Nothing against Harv's but casting my mind back to Scotty playing that DNA was his

I'm pretty sure, it's usual for assistant coaches to rotate their roles somewhat, to gain broader experience.

In any case, it occurred to me that we have recruited more Collingwood people now, with Sando a former Pies player, as well as Gubby Allen.

4 Games in 1994 and kicked a total of 1 goal.

As I said when this was 1st mooted, a good get by the CFC. Highly respected assistant at both Port and Geelong and did well at the Crows in the senior role initially. Has remained in touch with his AIS and media roles.

I understand Sando has just spent 2 years as Head Coach at the AFL Academy.

Together with Gubby's time at GWS, all bodes well for young gun recruitments in the years to come.

And certainly more than me as well as I can from the land of Rugby League. The reason I noted this is that some who like to take the roll of critics would respond by saying that we should not have too many ex Collingwood players withing the admin / coaching ranks. After only having spent 1 season at the Pies it is reasonable to assume that the greater influence on his football perspective is from outside the club and as such he cannot be classified as a parochial appointment.
